No need to reach the $10 minimum, here is a trick:
- add any item just to pass the $10. Click the checkout button to get to the next screen
- Open a separate browser tab and go to the cart. Remove the unneeded item you added before
- Switch back to the previous tab and continue with the checkout - the final order will have only your item with the total of less than $10
