I have the scarf from last year. It's very stretchy. I wrap it around my head + ears first, then neck,and tie the ends in the front. I cover it with my coat's hoodie depending on the cold. If it's too cold, I pull the front part up to my face and cover it. It stays in place, keeps my ears, head and neck very warm this way. It's better than any individual ear/face/ head/neck warmer for me, because it's all in one piece when I need to look for it. It washes perfectly. I usually air dry it, but even though it went to my dryer a few times accidently, it still has its original shape and no pilling. Oh, and it does not make your neck itchy.

How does women's beanie differ from men's ? I am looking at grey heather. Don't see any difference in the pics…or a way to tell them apart.

I've checked the hat in the store before. It is a simple knit nice knit fabric, looks no different than a men's one. It will fit exactly like any other men's hat, if you like them not loose (will be on the tight side, but you can make it work because the fabric is very stretchy). Wearing the flap part down will also give you more volume space.
