Awesome deal! I've got two of the sets with power adapter, and each adapter can do 3 lights, so I got two to round out the sets.

I use them for lighting in my office, these are excellent as indirect "wall lights" providing really gorgeous and even lighting. I get compliments any time somebody sees the setup. They're designed to tilt up by default, so you don't even need to install any hardware or mounts if you have a flat surface anywhere.

Just a heads up - these don't include the required plug. It's still a solid deal, nonetheless.

This kit with 2 lights is on sale on ebay for $94 with a $10 off 100 Home & Garden coupon code. (might be targeted)

Not super slick but If you just want the set.
I don't see a coupon code so must be targeted. I appreciate you sharing the link though!

I love them for ambient lighting as well! I've got 11 of them throughout my bedroom/sitting space

What about a cheap single power supply plug to use in separate rooms?

Generally speaking "cheap" and "Hue" are not found in the same sentences.

I want to use two of these with my PC while playing games. Do I need the bridge? I don't have any other Hue products.

Edit: Two instead of one
This is the expansion, so I believe you'd still need the base kit with the controller. You would also need the hue bridge as well to do light sync using the hue sync software.

The base kit typically already comes with two of these. The expansion light adds a third, which the base kit controller has three total ports for.

I meant to say, is there a cheap 3rd party power supply plug to use with just a single unit? I want to use 1 in each room.

This is a good deal if you're already in the Phillips Hue ecosystem. However, Govee and a handful of other brands are going to be much cheaper overall. Govee for example has a two pack of their equivalent product for the same price currently. I believe however that the Govee version is not quite as bright. However, some of their newer/premium products are on par or better than Philips in terms of LED quality.

When you say controller, do you mean power supply? From what I've been researching, I thought you just needed the lights, power supply, and/or bridge depending on use case.

The power supply is also a controller I believe (which just receives commands from the app and bridge).

Interesting! I thought it simply provided power. I suppose this explains why it carries a $30 MSRP

Here's the power adapter: https://www.philips-hue.com/en-us...6677585907

I bought a third party one from Amazon, it started smoking after a few days, luckily was home.

I bought these for like 120 bucks as a joke several years back and man I love em now lol. In for two more for the memes. Games with these is admittedly great. Balatro even.

owning a legit one, it's one of those plugs that you know had to be "special made" and likely is part of the cost justification (retail on these when they came out was fairly absurd) as it's not standard. Its like several female barrel plugs on a wall wart. They're right next to each other- never seen that on another power connector- not that it's concerning, the wattage is low enough, but it is not something I have seen before or again. That being said, I've been using mine nonstop pretty much for years and haven't had any issues other than Hue blinks all my lights when it's going to rain and it catches me off guard every time.
Also these make you keep your areas cleaner because you can't hide anything.

No power supply is a major let down, pass.

I have something similar to this made by Monster instead. Got it as a slickdeal a few years back and I put it behind my UTurn Turntable with the acrylic platter. The light shines through and creates this glowing light effect in the turntable and looks really cool! Just an idea.
