1) best case scenario - you have Amazon Prime but NOT Kindle unlimited - works
2) next case scenario - you have Amazon Prime and Unlimited -:you can read it unlimited for free, but not own it OR pay $11.99 which is what I have and currently see as the only offer
3) worst case scenario - no Amazon premium offerings, so is it $11.99 or does it show the discount price?

Admin please delete this post!
Many of us already stated clearly: when we go in as prime members, it says $0. But that's just for borrowing. To own it, it's $12.
it is extremely aggravating to have our time wasted like this. so please delete this!
On a general note: Apparently Amazon is making Kindle books impossible to download to your computer too, only a Kindle device and there's like a few days left. Also they have decided to permanently delete some books from the cloud completely before even if you paid for it, even if it is rare if it's just in the online library I guess you are out of luck if it happens to be one of those.
I think this is one of the books that you can keep in your library, and it doesn't expire. But you only get a few of these, and then you have to get rid of one to put a new one in. It's sort of like a multi cd player from 25 years ago.

And then below that there is a drop how option called "Want to buy for $11.99".
So, I would suspect as soon as my prime ends, the book is gone from my library.
Imagine that, the harry potter storyline series needs to have it's sales stoked by an initial book promotion
