For those looking for a high wattage cable, the cable mentioned is 240W.

This cable can't be found on Ankers site and I can't really tell the difference between this and the Bio-briaded (534) cables that appear to be a few years older but are still on Ankers site. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...00?ie=UTF8. Does anybody know the difference?

I know these are meant for charging, but why can't they make the data transfer faster?

NB: Is not a thunderbolt-capable cable.

They can, and they do. They're just more expensive.

They make these cheaper, more charging-oriented cables because that's what most people use them for, and people ALWAYS complain about cable prices. ALWAYS.

That's what I figured but I'm just surprised that it would be such a significant cost increase between USB3.2 and USB2.0. Why even bother with USB2.0 anymore?

I'm ignorant on USB cables. Is there a huge difference in speed with the 2.0 and 3.2? If you want speed, you'd go for a Thunderbolt USB, right?

File transfer speeds are really significant. Copied this off some site:

USB 3.0, released in 2008, has a transfer rate of more than 10 times that of USB 2.0, supporting 5 Gigabits per second (Gbps). USB 3.1, released in 2013, offers speeds up to 10 Gbps. USB 3.2, circa 2017, reaches speeds of 20 Gbps. USB 4.0 is defined to support 40 Gbps.

I ended up getting some of these but the 10ft cables. They don't actually say 250w in the box but they are also pretty darn heavy and stiff. Is that normal?

I noticed the same thing and am curious if the 6ft version is like this too. Higher wattage does require a heavier gauge wire, so I wonder if it's just a necessity. I wonder how flexible Apple has managed to make their 10ft Thunderbolt 4 cable (which is rated for 100w I think). It's $159 lol

For whatever it's worth I got this years ago (DOCKCASE Short USB C to USB C Cable (0.72ft), 3.1 Gen 2 10Gbps 100W 4K Video Data Transfer Charging Cable) on Amazon and it works well and is small enough to toss in my bag. I just figured the tech / options have improved since early COVID rush where nothing was available but these things all seem to only do power. Even the usb c cables bundled with my iPhone won't pass video
