It's actually pretty loud for those specs, it just doesn't sound very good.

This isn't bad, but not great either. I picked one up a couple of years ago and still works fine. Just don't expect a deep, rich sound out of it.

I have one as well and it is ok. The only real advantage is the ability to use your 18v batteries , and it runs forever.

Sound quality is poor even for $47. I ended up returning mine.

My friend has this.. Do yourself a favor and get an Anker BT speaker for less than half the price which has better quality and no additional battery needed. Or JBL if you wanna spend the $89 MSRP.. Rtings Dot Com has some good recommendations for BT speakers.

I've had one for 3 years now and I think it's great. The sound is 10x better/deeper than the older smaller Ryobi bluetooth speaker.
The 4aH battery lasts forever (like all summer of use on the patio).
My local THD had it for $45 clearance 2 months ago and I bought a second one.
I really like the ability to swap the battery out if it does die... as it's a party killer when embedded battery speakers die mid party.

Having an easily replaceable battery is a big plus for me. I'm still using a "Big Jam box" but the battery is difficult to replace. I have to keep it plugged in to use it which sort of limits the portability. I miss replaceable batteries in cell phones and laptops to name two others. Seems too much like planned obsolescence.

I got the Skil 12v speaker in the 5 tool kit back in the winter. Wasn't expecting much, but it actually sounds pretty good at low to moderate levels. Anyone here able to compare the two?

You can get a 4 speaker soundbar for $40 from TaoTronics and it sounds pretty good. Powers from USB adapter or a power brick. https://www.taotronics.com/produc...experience
