It may. But you're limited to wired earbuds or headphones if the TV has a Roku operating system. For most people wired listening is outdated but everyone has their preference. If a TV has a Google or Android operating system you can connect wireless earbuds or headphones directly to the TV.
Roku private listening is thru your phone(Roku app). Can be wired or wireless(BT).

Anyone willing to help out a miniled noob?

TV is in a very bright/glarey room (porch full of windows) so I've been very interested in these high peak brightness tvs since the tcl r646 good deal last year (rtings 800+ nits).

Several questions.

On the older tvs I'm familiar with, maxing out brightness/backlight (while REALLY not that bright), leads to a washed out picture. Do these qled/miniled sets not have or minimize that issue?

In general, do they facilitate easily jumping back and forth between brightness settings so my wife isn't toasting her eyeballs at night if I'm not around?

Any other picture quae issues I should be aware of in these "value" tier qled/miniled sets?

Thanks much
This TV should be very similar if not identical to the U6H apart from the OS which is shown at 581 nits peak depending on mode.

It's really going to depend on preferences but in that kind of room I'd be looking at something closer to 1000 nits, but trying a TV like this out is not a terrible idea if you're not too picky. Returns should be very easy.

These TV's put out an OK image in general. I am not aware of any other TV competing at this price and size in terms of overall picture quality. Most of the TCL's (like the Q6, Q65, etc.) around this price do not have any kind of local dimming and are not as bright, even with the lower amount of zones it can improve the image significantly depending on how picky the viewer is.

It's very quick to adjust brightness on the Roku OS.

The main downsides to these cheaper TV's are going to be related to motion, uniformity, and blooming caused by the low amount of local dimming zones.

Full review of the U6H can be found here:

Actually uses a different panel, chipset, hdmi port features. Closer to the 55u6gr. In fact what all I said in my last comment matches to that model the closest: https://slickdeals.net/f/18125806-hisense-65-u6hr-series-4k-uhd-qled-roku-smart-tv-walmart-358?p=175799365#post175799365

Good to know. Does it have more zones than the U6H like the U6GR?

I have the 65" U6GR and it has 60 zones versus the 32 of the U6H, I think the 55" U6GR also has 60 zones.

Edit: Looking at the specs the 65 U6HR seems to have "up to" 48 zones, that's probably for the 75" model. I don't think it really changes much, not many 65" TV's at this price point with FALD.

I asked Hisense and they said it had the same zones as the 50" but I notice less blooming on the 55" so I don't know? Seems like it has more zones.

The 1st 55" has terrible motion blur and 3 spots on the screen. 2nd seems to be flawless thus far

hrm, this vs a7n vs qd7n? If this was a true u6h, it would be no contest, but it's hard for me to tell without official reviews.
What is the best 65" in the 300-400 price point at the moment?

For instance, the 75" TCL q691 at costco was $500 until it ran out yesterday, but I wanted something similar to that but in a 65" which I figured should be $350-$400. I'm just wary about getting a walmart only exclusive panel with a 1 year warranty...

No competition. The U6HR over those models. Don't even need reviews.

Those don't have any local dimming, and are dimmer. The QD7N even uses an IPS panel...

4 year coverage is only $49, or 5 year for an extra $10.

I have the 50" version - currently $218 on Walmart's website. Not sure if the 65" has the same panel (some manufacturers varies the panel based on size even if it's the same model) but for the $200 I paid, I'm extremely PLEASED with mine. It blows my Samsung 55" Q60A QLED ($800 tv) out of the park. There are many Youtube videos under the "OLED test" category and the black levels are jaw-dropping - if you glance at the video, you'd be fooled into thinking you're watching an OLED tv because the blacks are indeed super black. The only giveaway is that if you look harder, you notice the blooming around the bright objects (typical of local-dimming technology). I specifically wanted a tv between 48 - 50" because the tv is for my motorized tv-lift cabinet - a 55" tv would literally rub against the cabinet when the tv goes up and down.

Thanks dude I need this post!

What do you think about the 58" R6 at Wal-Mart (link below). Only $258 thinking of this or you one you have. I was always afraid of Hisense and it failing but I gotta try something else

I agree, we got the same deal for our bedroom TV. Obviously it's not on par with our LG OLED, but for this kind of money I think it's the best deal going right now. I would've been happy had I paid $400 for it. It was impressive out of the box, especially for a budget set.

Chinese crap from a company thats still learning. They've figured out which stats the reviewers like and get good numbers such as nits but they are the rattle traps of the TV industry like Kias and Hyundais were in the late 80s.early 90s. Buy a cheap Samsung instead will last 8-10 years no hassles will look fine even without minileds and with half the nits. Samsung model 7200 65" $399 I think is a great deal. Saw the 75" at the store and it was bright, accurate and sharp. Blow off the Rtings score for both TVs because they seem to be in the business of promoting Chinese brands. I know I bought a TCL QM7 partly based on their recommendation and it was a piece of junk

Returned it after 1.week.

.
The brand had 2016 budget TV of the year, it's not finding it sea legs, it's been around. This is an awesome TV

Definitely get this 55" TV over the R6, they are different leagues. Hisense gives you a 2 year warranty, if you don't want to spend on the extended warranty through Walmart. Just go through the motions during initial setup to upload your receipt and register the TV. It really is an awesome TV, I almost couldn't believe it when I plugged it in for the first time. It's probably the best deal I've gotten on a TV in my almost 30 years of buying televisions.

If you look at the review for this model it matches almost exact on the specs and features: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/hisense/u6gr as I explained here: https://slickdeals.net/f/18125806-hisense-65-u6hr-series-4k-uhd-qled-roku-smart-tv-walmart-358?p=175799365&peid=2abba032-52b1-494e-af50-585dbdc6b1ef#post175799365

At least the 55" model. I think this model (compared to the U6H) just adds AI upscaling and maybe a new version of the Hi-View Engine tech (no settings for these. TV just supposedly auto does it)

So U6HR over R6 for sure? I wonder if the 65" would be as good as your 50" as far as contrast and color

Thee one I linked is 58"

The two aren't really comparable. The U6HR is a different class of TV.

The Hisense A7, U6, U7 are the best tvs currently at their respective price point, but ALWAYS get the 5 year Allstate warranties these days, anything sub $800 have a high chance of needing replacement within that window
