Available Options:All Certified Refurbished Steam Decks include:- The same one year warranty as a new Steam Deck (unless longer as determined by your country of residence)
- A refurbished power supply - fully tested (may have minor cosmetic marks)
- Carrying case and Quick Start guide
Features:- Portability meets power. We partnered with AMD to create Steam Deck's custom APU, optimized for handheld gaming. It is a Zen 2 + RDNA 2 powerhouse, delivering more than enough performance to run the latest AAA games in a very efficient power envelope.
- Your Steam Library, anywhere. Once you've logged into Steam Deck, your entire Steam Library shows up, just like any other PC. You'll also see the compatibility rating of each game, indicating the kind of experience you can expect when playing. You can dynamically filter any view in your library by compatibility rating if you're looking for specific sorts of experiences.
- Control with comfort. The Steam Deck was built for extended play sessions—whether you're using thumbsticks or trackpads—with full-size controls positioned perfectly within your reach. The rear of the device is sculpted to comfortably fit a wide range of hand sizes.

I expected to play more demanding games on my steam deck but so far I've been enjoying light indie games the most by far. AAA is for the PC.
For you or anyone that is even remotely on the fence about getting a deck, I cannot recommend doing so more. I've never actually met or talked to anyone who's regretted it. It has been a game changer for me. I thought I might not use it that much but I find myself using it constantly even at home over my ps5 just for the convenience factor of playing a game in a different room or laying in bed, etc. (if you have ps5, there's an app that you can even use remote play and essentially turn it into a PS Portal which is great if the TV is being used by someone else, granted they aren't using the ps5).
For those of you that are worried about not being familiar with Linux, I was in the same boat but there are countless videos and tutorials that take you step by step to install anything that interests you including emulators and streaming services. I'm at the point now that I feel pretty comfortable with the operating system (admittedly not even close to windows but still).
Last thing I will say in regards to competition like the Asus or Lenovo, I can't speak on how good they are personally but there is a consensus that the Steam Deck is by far the easiest pick-up-and-play since it was optimized to run games on Steam so there are less tweaks to settings needed to be made for everything to run smoothly. I literally started with a 0 game steam library and now I have dozens of games and it's allowed me to finally delve into all the indie games I didn't have access to previously (I don't PC game).
Anyways that's my 2 cents. If you're on the fence, DO IT

Better performance if you're trying to play AAA games, but you get way better battery life on the SD Oled. And there's the tradeoff of a 1080p/120hz IPS screen vs a 720p/90hz OLED screen (for me, I can't go back to IPS).

I don't know when it will be refreshed but they are 3 years into the life cycle of this machine.
Thank you! Hopefully I can get a few years out of it if I decide to buy. It looks like such a great piece of hardware.

For myself I prefer the steam.
The only reason why I'd get the Rog Ally is windows but I set up dual boot which scratches the itch to access my "XBOX anywhere" game catalog or multiplayer games. People are having lengthy arguments over graphics but it just boils down to just a difference in a few frames. If you really need to play the latest and greatest chances are your going to need a desktop which, then, just use steam link or moonlight to stream to the handheld or subscribe to a streaming service.

There are also some multiplayer games that cannot be played on the steam deck, dealbreaker for me.
