I just applied and got denied with an 820 credit score but with over 30 cards and 0 debt
Cons: Customer service is not as consumer friendly as Chase or Amex
$250 travel credit has to be spent through their terrible portal, which is just a Hopper re-skin and routes reservations through 3rd parties (my last was an Expedia reservation). Most costs for the portal are higher than if you have an account with 3rd party sites like Booking, Agoda, or Priceline and CapOne will NOT match a logged-in price. There is no telephone customer service for booking.

Pros: Eno vendor specific CC numbers with number cancellation and holds are great for online signups
2 points per dollar spent and direct reimb. for travel using points at 1pt=1c is essentially a 2% cash back card if you travel
No foreign tx fees (for those who travel internationally)

If you travel a little, it's a good card. If you travel more than 3-4 times a year, especially if your preferred airport has a CapOne lounge, the VentureX is a better product to have ($395AF), but this is a good stop gap with a solid bonus.
What's in MY wallet? Too many cards. That's what CapOne tells me every time when they hard-pull all three bureaus to deny me with 800+ FICO.

Man cap1 i remember someone saying is awkardly weird, they pull 3 credit bureaus even on biz app!

this one they showed me aproved for Venture X through the pre-qualify tool, and so I thought if it approved me for venturex, the lower tier, this card would be approved too! BUT NOPE! Hard decline.

They are okay approving for the card with $350 fee. smh

How does the TSA/Global Entry perk work? Do you apply for TSA/GA and then the card credits you back? Do you have to submit a reimbursement? Anyone have an idea?

Also, does it count toward your spend amount?
it is automatic credit back (1-2 billing cycle), no reimbursement
yes, it will count towards your spending

Oh, that's awesome! We're planning on going to Tokyo in 2026. I've got a travel card that has this reward and my wife just signed up. This is something we're going to take advantage of then!

I used CapitalOne pre-approval link and got the instant approval for CapitalOne Venture One instead. My credit score is 820ish, and I have an excellent history. I have about 10 active credit cards.

So weird that I was not eligible for their Venture credit card.

I currently have the Capital One Venture X and Spark cards, as well as Venture One X for business. (All else being equal), will they approve if I apply for this card?

ok. I believe this benefit once every 4 years. So if you are paying for annual fee, just check about its expiration/renewal date.

They might need to verify some information. Call the application department and check if they need to double check information. I just had this happen to me trying to get chase Sapphire reserve card.

Same boat. I think it's too many cards and too much credit extended (150K right now, less than 5% monthly utilization).

I have that issue with Chase, but it's never resulted in a denial just a shift in credit limits between cards.

30 cards was the reason you probably got denied. Credit card companies worry that you will charge up all the cards and be overextended. You may be very responsible, but they use a formula. If some of the cards are not being used, and with no benefit. You may consider destroying them and keeping a few cards. I have a friend with a perfect FICO score of 850. He keeps no more than 4 credit cards, all with high limits of 6-figure credit lines. congrats on being responsible.

If you know someone who already has this card they can send you a referral link that is offering 100k points for 5k spend in 3 months. It has a higher spend requirement but gives you points instead of travel credit which can be more useful for people who don't want to use the capital one travel portal.

Yes. You can have the venture x and venture, they are considered different cards. You can earn the sign up bonus on both.

Damn I applied for this card like the day before this came out. What are the odds. Not only that, but they took a long time to approve and send the card. I tried creating a online account to see if I have a temp card number I can use, but it's not sending me the code to my phone for the 2-step verification. I had about $3k to spend tomorrow to sign up for summer camp for 2 kids and I won't make it in time.
