Check back when it goes live on March 25 for exact details. It's usually pretty straightforward where they give you a code and then that code can either be copied and pasted into a link or website to activate when you're logged into your MLB account. Look at the Wiki (informational post on the first page of the thread) once it goes live and more specifics are usually added there.

Also, as a new user, it's usually best to look for a long-term user with a decent amount of rep to trade with, as they're usually viewed as more reliable traders. A new user who's buying will usually look for a more established user to buy from and a new user who's selling usually looks for a more established user to sell to. Then the new user generally sends first to avoid scammers. If a new user looking to buy pairs with a new user looking to sell, it can be sketchy because neither have a reputation as a reliable trader, so neither one of them usually wants to send first for fear of getting scammed. If a user has a few hundred rep points, they're usually considered to be pretty reliable as a helpful SD user. If they have thousands of rep points, even more so.

Want to know how bad reading comprehension is in the United States? Look at all the people in this thread talking about MLS.... while this thread is about MLB..... and the deal doesn't start until next month. Sometimes you just lose faith in humanity.

… question about how trades usually work …
There aren't any firm rules on that, but it's generally accepted that the person with lowest rep sends first. So if you have 200 and trade with someone who has 50, they'd send first. If you have 200 rep and they have 1000, you'd send first. But users can also hammer out the details between themselves.

Edit: oops, I was replying to someone, but don't see the original comment now. As soon as I posted, it showed a completely different quoted-post.

Here's the most common reason for removals when posting a trade request … requesting more than $5 for a code or being vague about how much you're requesting. If you're looking for more than $5, you need to PM the users offering more rather than request it (yes it's weird, but them's the rules)

RULES from Wiki:

Make sure you clearly mention what you are looking for and what you are offering.

Cash/Venmo sales are not allowed.

Only 1 post/bump per 24 hours.

If you have a MLB.TV code you can only ask for $5 value (example: $5AGC); you can offer more than that if you are looking for a code.

Edit: To help keep it clear, maybe follow a simple pattern in your request...
Ex:
HAVE: 1 code
WANT: $5 AGC

or
WANT: 1 code
HAVE: $10 AGC
more clarification?

seller:
can only ask for MAX $5.
can not be vague, like "have code, send pm". or "send offers"
if u post this, u will be warned and your post removed

buyer:
as a buyer, you are NOT limited to $5 max.
as buyer you can offer more than $5.
say for example, u can post:
"looking for code, can offer $10" {or $15}

i explain

there are lots of dense folks on threads like these

that do not bother to read the "policy / rules"

mods can only do so much

folks either too lazy or just dont care

just look at the number of "new users on this thread

Dang. That's still like $10-$15 more than trading here.
