About this Game:
- Saga Anderson is a gifted FBI agent called to the small Pacific Northwest town of Bright Falls to investigate a series of ritualistic murders. Alan Wake is a writer who has spent years trapped in the Dark Place, a terrifying alternate reality that can be reshaped by his words. Although they have never met, the two are connected across separate realities, their actions able to change their respective worlds.
- When the events depicted in a horror story cause Bright Falls to become engulfed in a corrupting, supernatural darkness, both Anderson and Wake must use the power of light to survive – and to protect the ones they love. In a reality-bending world of victims and monsters, can they become the heroes of this story?

I haven't finished AW1 or AW:AN. Is AW2 worth $30 even for physical?

The PS2 could play PS1 discs.
The PS3(phat) could play PS1&PS2 discs. Later the PS3 could play some PS1 but not PS2.
Then PS4 could only play PS4 discs.
Now PS5 can play PS4 discs and digital.
My main issue is digital content purchased on PS3 is restricted to PS3 even though digital content purchased on a PS4 can be played on PS5. Digital content that I purchased on PS3 is now locked behind the highest tier of PS+ on my PS5.

Is this game good?
I would have loved it if they released a physical edition at launch, I would have paid the premium for a limited edition like I did with AW1, but alas they did not.
You will not regret buying this game.

My perspective is a bit more mixed. I found the story to be sufficiently compelling and largely satisfying, but also self-indulgent and tedious. Basically, it was good enough to pull me in and keep me playing, but also exhausting at the same time and nowhere near as good as it's made out to be.
The gameplay loop is mostly fine. Enemy variety is not particularly great and there are frustrating decisions made with inventory management/save points right before boss fights. I found the Mind Place and problem-solving components to be dull and pointless.
Overall, a good game that I'm glad I played, but I wouldn't call it an all-timer. To each their own on that, though.
