https://shop.zojirushi.com/products/nlgac Here's a link to this product from the Zojirushi site. It says it is still fuzzy logic but adds slow cook and a steaming function to the unit. I've had my white Zojirushi fuzzy logic rice cooker for about 20 years now and it is still going strong. They still make my model, which says quite a lot about it. Looking at the great experience I've had with mine, I would just go with a plain jane fuzzy logic model like this one, https://shop.zojirushi.com/products/nswxc . I saw it on sale from $140.00 to $104 directly from Zojirushi. I'm not dumping on this deal, I just think if are looking for a dedicated rice cooker and do not need slow cook or the steam function, this fuzzy logic rice cooker makes great rice at a great price and will do the trick.

You can get a Tiger brand 5.5cup for $69.99 in Costco store now.
I have this, and i gotta say i prefer my 10 follar ri e cooker over it. It looks nice but found that the rice is always harder. Im not looking for watery rice, but im not looking for crunchy as well.

Teflon is just fine for this. You would never "cook" with it. Only idiots could mess this up in a rice cooker. I've had the white version without umami for many years and it works perfectly fine. I get the hate for Teflon if it's like a fry pan and that would be justified but not for rice cooker
Someone will be along shortly to let you know that they scratched or flaked theirs.

Any reason to get this over the fuzzy logic version on sale last week? I got the Japan version of it but am curious if this one is noticeably better? Seems like umami cooking is the only main difference?

Can someone educate me as to why this is worth 14x what I paid for my standard basic rice cooker? Is rice cooked in it somehow magically better?

Tiger rice cooker from Costco. Just as good, fraction of price. Return if it breaks.

For this price, it's a good deal.
If you want something cheaper but good, I recommend Yum Asia, also sold on Amazon. It sound like a made up brand but they were the main importer of Zojirushi in Europe until it was discontinued in Europe. Then they designed their own based off of Zojirushi's models. I got a Yum Asia last year and it's been great, perfect rice every time. They use ceramic, not Teflon, so easy to clean. Multiple sizes and high reviews on Amazon.

If you have the money for a nice Zojirushi made in Japan, go with that. But if you want something cheaper that's still good, Yum Asia is a good option.

Stainless steel tends to leave rice stuck, difficult to clean. It says this in the reviews as well.

I recommend ceramic rice bowls, or if necessary, Teflon (if quality is good).

My instant pot pressure cooker cooks all kindsa rice in 7 mins from basmati, jasmine, long grain, short grain, etc., & has stainless steel pot, so no worries about carcinogen coatings leaching into your steam rice. No issues with rice sticking either.

I have one Zojirushi that kept damaging its coating. Zojirushi replaced the inner pot once but happened again.

don't understand why people buying this when Instant Pot is designed to do the same job at a fraction of the price?

I cook rice daily, and looking for an honest feedback to educate me why I should buy this.
