It's the PSP version of both games with a few tweaks. They are considered the definitive way to play with the redub and translation for SOTN and Rondo is just amazing, so much better than Dracula X. I played through them on release on PS4 and had so much nostalgia fun.
Symphony of the Night is worth every penny and then some.
I'm in my first playthrough of Symphony of the Night and I'm absolutely blown away. I regret not trying Castlevania games sooner. I've been on the RG35xx+ and am SO EXCITED to play this and Rondo on the PS5!

In this version of symphony of the night is it improved at all? Like support for widescreen or anything, or is it the same game as it was on the psx?

That's my concern, a lot of it is nostalgia. I'm not sure how much I would enjoy playing without that prior experience. Kind of wished they would remaster it all in 4k as series have been doing with maybe reworked voice work and quality of life improvemnts and such

SOTN is an all time great. I replayed it a long while back on the PSP and enjoyed it, but I've never had the desire to play it through a third time. IMO, it's more worthwhile to play through the Advance collection for a more "modern" experience.

Not to mention that there are so many other Metroidvanias to play that will give you a fresh experience.

I'll note again that Konami butchered the audio mix in this port and added annoying controller rumble (which can only be disabled on a system-wide basis). Still, $4 for two great games is a pretty slick deal.

Also, the $3 iOS/Android port of SotN is really good (when playing with a physical controller) and adds auto saves.

found my answer if it helps anyone else:
To play this game on PS5, your system may need to be updated to the latest system software. Although this game is playable on PS5, some features available on PS4 may be absent. See PlayStation.com/bc for more details.

The Gameboy advance games are awesome. I couldn't beat circle of the moon, I think I was on boss 8/10 and just couldn't do it, even with the rewind feature.

The other two were a breeze but still fun.

I bought is a number of months ago (even though I owned if for the PS3 and PS4 and had to buy it again because no crossover...) when they had this same deal for the same price. I have PS5. It played flawlessly.

They did redub the voices. Also, exactly what QoL improvements are you looking for? The game was incredibly polished for the time, and it holds up well. Many older games have clunky controls which make it hard to play for modern gamers, but Alucard is still incredibly smooth and responsive.

It's hard to convey just how amazing DracX for the TurboCD (imported) was. It really showed the kind of gaming we could expect on the PSX before the PSX was even out.

Symphony was just one fhe best PSX games they ever made. Holds up surprisingly well given it's age.

The OSTs for both games are fantastic.

Yeah, I played the original castlevanias and some of Castlevania 4 for the SNES. I'm not into retro games as much, it's hard for me to go back to those graphics even though I grew up in the NES era.

That's the thing, I have quite a few Metroidvanias I want to plaly I know it's only $4 but my time is the limiting factor here, not the money.
If I do get it I will feel obligated to play it at the cost of something else. If they make a remastered version with quality of life improvements, widescreen support, and better graphics/audio I would be more keen on jumping in.
I'm sure it will happen eventually... although it feels like Konami has forgotten about Castlevania... I keep hoping for a 2d resurgence like the new prince of persia game but nothing.
