You clearly haven't heard of MagSafe cases? You living under a rock?
Mag Cases can only run at 7.5 watts, compared to 30w from native mag. 4x faster charging lol. Mag cases are essentially wireless charging pads from 2020.

Those don't add full functionality like detachment notifications for the Apple MagSafe Wallet and faster charging (7.5W vs 25W of the other 16 phones).

What do we think the trade in value will be towards apple GC? Was thinking about trading couple phones in and then purchase a macbook at discounted price.
Flaws in your plan. First, it won't be available for trade in until a new phone is introduced-IP 17. Second, Apple has people the pay very well to itemize every part in the production of a phone. They're not ignorant of what these preorders are selling for. When available for trade in, it will be worth less than the price here.

I can tell you back in Dec I bought a iPhone 13 from ST and activated it with the one paid month. I took the phone to my daughter who lives in New Zealand and told her the unlock date. She waited 31 days and it was unlocked. However, when I activated the phone I used all of my own Apple account to do so. On the unlock date, before the phone could be reset, it needed permission from my phone back in the US to allow the phone to erase all content, etc. After that, the phone reset without any issues and is working as usual in New Zealand. I'm not sure if the 16e has a SIM card slot, the regular iPhone 16 doesn't. It's eSIM only for all 16's sold in the US, other countries have a tray for a physical SIM card. Which is stupid I think.
Before you brought the phone to New Zealand, did you reset it or log out of your Apple ID?

I brought the phone to NZ with me. At that time it was still within the 30 day initial plan. I had the phone turned off and never used it after the initial setup. When I gave it to my daughter, I told her the unlock date. The unlock date was after I was already back in the US from visiting her. I told her not to turn the phone on until the unlock date to be on the safe side. She waited 1 day longer than the 60 days to be sure before checking the phone. At that time it the phone said no sim restrictions. I never logged out of my apple acct before hand.

When she proceeded to erase and reset the phone. My phone back in the US asked permission to proceed with the reset process because it was still linked to my apple acct. Once I gave permission, the phone reset and she set it up with her apple acct and put in her sim card from her carrier in NZ and it worked without any issues. I hope this helps.

Finally got the email verification email to go through I can't believe how many days their system has been hosed.

My dad is on a SE3 and cranks the text size up a ton this will at least give him some more screen space. Getting him used to Touch ID is going to be fun.

Funny enough his SE3 is a straight talk refurb I bought two last year one for him and one for my aunt they both were on SE2s. Second phone was defective bad SIM card slot confirmed by Apple and straight talk was useless.

At least with a new phone as long as it unlocks then I can deal with Apple.
