Because they are cheap only in price. They are not "cheap" lights they are high quality, well built lights with great fit, fisinh, function and durability at a low price. They are nice lights that cost significantly less than any of the makers you list.

A similar Streamlight might cost $100.

I have not had a Wurkkos or Sofirn fail and even have many no name generic china lights are still going strong after ten or more years of use and abuse.

Why would I want more expensive when I can have multiple light in various form factors and function where I need them for still significantly less cost than one Streamlight?

Streamlight also seems to want to suck you into proprietary batteries that you can only get from them which I find very weaselly and money grubbing in a world where low cost 18650 is becoming standard.
i love wurkkos flashlights i have a bunch of them, great quality at a budget price, this is for sure a great price comming from amazon and not waiting for them from china
The TS23 is indeed bigger, it's a jacket-pocket only light while the WK03 could be carried in a pants pocket (it's still larger than I personally want in a pants pocket, like all 18650 lights that aren't a Zebralight).

WK03:
Neutral color temperature
Excellent color rendering
18650 battery (possibly pocketable)
Lightweight for size

TS23:
Lots of output (briefly) for size
Very cool color temperature
Poor color rendering
21700 battery (higher capacity, not pocketable)
Heavy for size

I used to buy cheap flashlights like the ultrafire wf-502b and thought they were great quality at a budget price too, but i would always be dissatisfied some time later. Instead of buying a bunch of these cheap lights like wurkkos or sofirn, why not just buy fewer but higher quality like Fenix, Nitecore, Streamlight?
these are well built. theyre cheap only in price

Is the 90+ CRI accurate or wishful thinking?

The specification for the TS23 states that it produces 5000 lumens for 2.5 hours. While battery technology has advanced, is it realistically possible to sustain that output for such a duration?

Not really. That only means a estimated 2.5 hrs overall run time at that lumen level but it will quickly step down to cool and not run 2.5 hrs continuously at one time at that level. Even short durations at full power will have it stepping down to cool. Turbo modes are mostly used momentarily in the real world and runtimes and lumens are usually over rated. Look up some of the in depth reviews and you can see real world charting of output times and how quickly they step back.

I have a habit of losing my flashlights. The quality for the price is excellent IMO. And I don't feel too bad when I need to replace one.

That's not physically possible. To drive an XHP70.2 to 5000lm probably takes about 30-35W, so that would mean a 75-85Wh battery with zero loss/inefficiency (impossible) whereas the highest capacity 21700 batteries are about 19Wh (5100mAh x 3.7V).

More importantly, because there will be losses converted into heat, and the thermal mass of the flashlight is not nearly enough to handle it @ 5000lm for more than a few seconds, it would destroy the emitter with the heat generated if it was able to run at that output for an extended period.

As the commentator above says, the light will quickly step down to a lower output level and the output will decline over time until the flashlight shuts off due to low voltage. See the review I linked earlier in the thread.

I have A LOT of wurkkos lights but this model never really interested me.....I did get one strong Xmas in red and I was surprised at how much I liked it and ordered the golden one shortly after. The 519a is such a great emitter.

Wise man and good point.

You can literally get five or more of Wurkkos for the price of one of the designer fanboy brands. I can have a host of different sized and feature lights for the price of one and someone tries to tell me that is bad or unwise, I just do not get it.

Even if I worry about warranty and support the Wurkkos still comes out on top even if they offer none as I could have five of these for the price of one Steamlilight. If one fails so be it I am still ahead.

Good price via Amazon marketplace, but it is a pass for me because of the LED driver. I'm waiting for a deal on the Wurkkos FC11C with a buck driver.

Thanks OP for the deal. Is this similar or better than the https://a.co/d/emARHoa?
I'd like to keep one handy for my upcoming trip.

I got the Energizer for $12.xx which is still not shipped.

Also, will it be allowed on international flight ?

I ended up getting the TS26S-5000k for only $12.85 more after the 38% off coupon. Bigger battery, way brighter, and has reverse charging so you can use it as a backup battery for your phone. Has four of the same LED's used in this one.
