For me 2TB is more than enough for the next 3 years. Therefore, I'm waiting for ebay used 2TB for $70. Wait 4TB $180 by 2028.
I'd like a 4TB of SN850X/990 Pro class SSD at some point, but waiting for something closer to $200. I got my genuine, new 980 Pro 2TB for $60 on ebay back in 2023, and just recently found it in my m.2 storage case after hours of looking at drives online for my new PC. I was happy that I didn't need to spend money on a drive today. Still watching for a legitimate 4TB drive deal though!
I have a secondary 7.68TB SATA direct-attached drive to get me by for now, but it's TLC and DRAM-less. Just a Micron 5100, so not exactly the fastest thing, but I can't complain since it was new for $180, also in 2023. There's deals to be had for sure, but of course one needs to verify that it isn't a fake by running some performance and drive-fill/read-back tests, if not also firmware updates.
