the delta 3 plus has been $538.67 at wellbots for weeks, with no tax for most, not $645. so there is only $72 difference. the extra dc/pv input alone is worth the extra $72. solar panel prices are dropping rapidly, and so folks should leave themselves the possibility of doing double the solar with the extra input. the extra pv input is also an easy way to double the re-charging input from a cheap off-brand external battery via the xt60i.

sorry, but this deal is just lukewarm, not that exciting.

Not everyone is trying to maximize solar. And if you aren't then why pay for the extra port? I'm glad that you prefer the extra port. The D3Plus is for you then. That doesn't mean this isn't a good deal for those who have a different use case than your own.

You forgot about taxes depending on your state.

The deal is lukewarm at best.

$538.67 is the same as paying $498.77 plus 8% sales taxes. $466.65 plus 8% sales taxes = $502.92. It is about $35.xx difference but you get more solar capabilities. But if you're penny pitching, then get the delta 3. Personally, I would pay the extra $36 is I am in the market foe one of these units

And the dela plus can also be used as a UPS because of short switch time, which the regular delta 3 can not do.

I believe another differentiator is that the plus has UPS functionality (<10ms switchover) vs 20ms.

I don't have sales tax in my state. So no you are fundamentally wrong. Not to mention you have to add the 8% to the other price you are comparing to.
Original post said the other site doesn't have sales tax. Which is true, and most other people in the states do have sales tax on this site. So it is true there is about a $30-$40 difference for most.

The better deal if this sale goes on wellbots.

You must really be looking at another product. This one has UPS <10ms. Please see specs: https://us.ecoflow.com/collection...er-station

Edit: forgot the alternator charger uses battery port, so this is wrong.

Because in a mostly permanent vehicle setup, you can have both a solar panel and the alternator charger hooked up at the same time.

Of course Everything is dependent on needs.

One concern with that site link is that it does say delta 3, but it mixes content with the delta 3 plus. For instance it has the delta 3 plus output images, usb-c 140w. Sprinkled throughout are d3p references and specs. In the beginning it does correctly note the 500w solar input.

It doesn't in Ohio. Surprised you're getting taxed. Where are you located?

i completely understand, and i don't mind if people want a slightly cheaper option and never intend to do solar. although, as i explained, the extra xt60i input on the delta plus does not have to be used with solar, but can be used with an external battery or dc power supply to charge the delta 3 plus at double the rate. a lot of people who do not do solar might want to use a cheap non-ecoflow external battery to add capacity to their power station, and with an extra xt60i input, one can double the dc input.

and, as i said, people may think that they have no interest in doing solar now, but prices on panels are dropping like a rock, and since these units are supposed to last for 10 years or more, people should carefully consider that they may change their mind and do solar in the future, when panels are cheap commodity items.

the main issue with your post is that you (perhaps unintentionally) misrepresented the price of the delta 3 plus, claiming it was more than a $100 more than you can get it for right now. the difference is nowhere near $180 difference.

i think i did folks a favor by pointing out that you can get a delta 3 plus for a lot less than a $180 difference. if there was genuinely a $180 spread i could see a good reason for many to go with the regular delta 3. but for $72 or less (less for me, because your deal i have to pay sales tax in my state, but for the delta 3 plus from wellbots i do not have to pay sales tax) i recommend people pay a bit extra for the delta 3 plus.

it makes little difference to me which one folks go with.
