I have a few 18650 batteries. The description does mention that it can take " a single rechargeable battery", but didn't mention the size .
In for this deal - you cannot have enough flashlights! I love the fact that they come with lanyards as I usually hang flashlights in areas I am usually needing them in, like the basement, attic, garage, office, etc. I will also use neodymium magnets to attach them to, for example, a metal lamp column in my office so they're always where I need them. I have a split level house with 5 levels so having multiple cheap flashlights stored in different areas eliminates the time spent in remembering where I last left a flashlight and trudging up and down the stairs to fetch it.

Why is this news to you is my question? You should not have to be spoon fed information as it is freely and readily available to you. How you missed thousands of lithium battery fires I haven't a clue. They go off multiple times a day all around the country.

When people start using 18650s and up that opens up a whole new world of possible burns, fires and explosions along with deadly and lethal toxins released in gas form as you can see below. One breath of that can be deadly.

Shoot me any questions.
If you knew about them for years why did you ask me to do the work and link? You could have just conceded the point before we had to go there.
It is not me jumping in and exaggerating the risk you and others keep asking while denying it. I just ask that we do not dismiss it when we even have a user of them here saying they burnt his kid. He did not say don't buy and I did not either. When people told him to basically shut up is when I got in. Dismissing it like it is not a consideration is the problem I have with the general conversation here.
There really should have been no response to my first comment as I said absolutely nothing untrue, false, misleading, exaggerated or confrontational. For some reason that set some off into attack and debunk mode. I'm being reasonable and having reasonable conversation others are not.
You and everybody can take whatever risk you want just like I do but acting like they are not there makes no sense and if somebody mentions them it does not make them your enemy.
For deals that are about $2 more, read messages on the previous page that show flashlights with similar specs and similar thousands of reviews (mostly positive)--one that includes 6 AAA batteries, so that may be in effect the same cost if you factor that in.
