Many reports of the hinge quickly failing and ASUS blowing off warranty accountability. I'll pass.

Also, showing shipping is backlogged a month or two.

Compared to the previous ones from Asus on Slickdeals, this MB16AHV has mini-HDMI input. (MB166C for $89 and MB166CR for $99)

I never could see any use case for things. What would someone even use something like this for?
It just seems like such an awkward product.
And can't you just use any tablet with an OTG and a dirt cheap USB capture card device instead?
A 15 inch tablet is going to cost way more. And one of the biggest complaints people have with these monitors is them breaking during transport. I would rather risk $100 than $1,000.

i use monitors like this for my xbox when i'm on the road. They also are handy as a second screen on a laptop.

Second screen on a laptop when traveling, presentation screen at a clients office if a room with a TV/Projector isn't available, video game screen for kiddos in a hotel room.

I have one in planning on mounting has a digital picture frame, powered by an old phone.

On the road, 2nd screen is easily a 100% productivity increase

I bought a generic brand for < $50 with same resolution and also has a mini HDMI. I use it for my raspberry pi collection when I need a monitor.

I've been using portable USB monitors since 2013 as a second monitor alongside work laptop. I'm the reason the company I worked for back then made it standard equipment for all employees of the department on the road.

Portable monitor to plug into headless servers, a very rare occurence but happens now and than vs a giant normal monitor. Just plug into the usb-c port and it gets video/power. Not many (if any) tablets will act as a monitor.
