More like Gopro killed themselves. They've had overheating issues since forever while DJI somehow solved them by the Action 3.

I was deciding between the Hero 13 and the Action 3, and Gopro has multiple issues (sometimes just doesn't record) while DJI just works
GOPRO's are still great for what they do. It's just that now they have some healthy competition.
IMHO they still trade blows on cutting edge features and GoPro has still more loyal customers, but DJI is probably the clear winner in reliability.

Instead of a political argument about a camera, does anyone know if I can use this camera to stream my kids baseball games on GameChanger app? GameChanger can connect to a camera but it needs to use RTMPS.
Want to know this as well. Right now I am using a phone for streaming volleyball but would like to branch out and have a dedicated camera for it

My GoPro is probably due for new batteries and last time I used it, it stopped recording after about 30 seconds and only captured audio. It never did that before so I know the memory card is probably fine, so I'm leaning towards the battery.

I was considering a newer, GoPro, but is this worth considering? We mainly use it when we go skiing, or snorkeling, when we travel, or just around the yard. Basically just capturing family moments.
I just ordered a 5 pro to replace a Hero 7 Black for snorkeling, cause with snorkeling the light is not good, and the larger sensor of the 4/5 should help a lot.

So what I read is that it's possible with a DJI device using RTMP - but RTMP isn't the most secure streaming method - that would be RTMPS. GameChanger uses RTMPS natively, but there is a way to stream RTMP through the DJI and GameChanger app but it involves a few extra setting adjustments (not too big a deal). Some of the people on a DJI forum were complaining that when it comes to streaming youth sports it should be more secure which makes sense but I don't know much about how it all works.
I'm going to order one and try it out. If it doesn't work well I have 90 days to return it I believe.

I upgraded from an old GoPro to a DJI Action 1 during COVID, and now upgraded to the Action 4 when it was on sale last year. Have been happy with the Action 4 for the past year and would recommend it to anyone interested in it at this price point.

My main use case is to shoot timelapses while traveling, hyperlapse of road trips, and recording my calls to customer service agents to my ISP when they try to jip me.

Until you buy a DJI and the thing is completely bricked until you install a CHINESE APP which sends data to servers in China. They tell you nothing about this when you buy it, then all of a sudden they want their software on your personal cellphone. I'm surprised people don't recognize what is really going on.

None of off the Official DJI device control apps are on Google Play, that's why they have their own downloads on their website: https://www.dji.com/mobile/downloads/djiapp
Yeah, totally not sus at all... Nevermind the face government agencies got a notice that DJI was not secure and studies show they send data back to servers in China. People are so gullible.

So does the same go for all us DJI drone owners?

The app is on the App Store, but yes, having to install the app is annoying, but you can also uninstall it after you get the camera activated.

Someone on the costco site wrote that you need to register to activate the camera -- apologies if this has already been covered -- i saw some stuff about online activation in previous comments. What types of information do they track? Geolocation is my primary concern, not that I'm doing anything bad
