Something like a Kenwood DMX7709S or similar. Yes it requires more effort to install, but it should work well without weekly problems, and for longer.

I did retrofit my 2015 BMW with a Carplay screen that integrates with the BMW iDrive and it's one of those "I'll never own another car without it" things. Especially for the navigation and the phone sync stuff.
Also, besides a larger screen & being a replacement physically to a car's unit, would a dedicated digital multimedia/carplay/AA unit have any additional feature over this unit?
The unit doesn't always quickly pair to the Galaxy Fold 4. I have to sometimes turn off/on the unit or Bluetooth in the phone to pair.
In two months of use, no problem with the screen.
At first I mounted directly to the dash using the supplied base. I found the unit would droop down, I continuously tightened it to the base. I tightened it so much a piece warped and doesn't fit back on the unit. I then used the window mount, and purchased a nav weighted dash mat to mount to. It holds the unit in place better than the supplied window/dash mount.
I have a Bluetooth to Aux cord transmitter in the car. I synced the unit to that Bluetooth device as well as the phone. The phone is also Bluetooth synced to the car's phone Bluetooth and an Ultra Watch (4 devices at the same time). No problems taking or receiving a call.
I didn't setup the reverse or use the dash cam.

I even bought a 2nd on on eBay planning to install it in another car, but that car's dash layout isn't conducive to the supplied mount so it's just been sitting....
