I was able to get this down to $1820 with the 10% coupon and a c b site. YMMV
Awesome deal, Im still running my Alienware Aurora R7 with liquid cooling from like 2018. Upgraded from a GTX1080 to a RTX3070. Not a single issue with this PC. I run it for about 8+ hours a day and often max out the CPU and GPU from gaming yet ive never had an issue with overheating even when my office was 90+ degrees
16GB? Really?

Man, I was putting a list together for 9800x3d and 5080 all white build. The cost is climbing upward to 4.5k.This literally half the price but not as nice looking. Decision decision
You can spec out a better build than this Alienware for under $2k with a 9800x3d/5080. Spending an additional $2.5k for it to be white is... a decision. You're in 9950x3d/5090 territory at that point.

As in a prebuilt you can buy today, or notional MSRP's that we won't see for another year?

Based on msrp of parts, which are all easy to get with the exception of the gpu... well now with the whole tariff situation who knows what that's going to do to prices.
Obviously some luck involved but there are a couple ways to try to get a msrp card like bestbuy drops, microcenter someone will stock in store, nvidia vpa program

Nah, these new intel chips are crap for gaming compared o the 13/14 series CPUs.. and the NVDA 5080 chips are not much better then the 4070 ti sup from last year.. These look overpriced for what they were made for.. gaming. We got those for like $1100 after cashback and coupons. It's looking weak.

99.9%? L take brother. I can tell as soon as it is turned on. Stuff gets weird and sometimes even "shimmery" and looks horrible. I can handle it when all the DLSS is on balanced or quality and the AI frames on low settings (sometimes can't even take it on low), but that is it. Anything more than that and stuff starts getting weird. And tons of latency added.

And besides 5080/5090, what are your other current options to be able game at 4k raytraced on demanding games now and thinking of the next few (at least 5) years into the future?

9070xt/9800x3d I'm gaming highest settings full rt 4k steady 60 fps fsr set to quality no frame gen on AC Shadows. Indiana Jones I do have to turn the rt down.

60 frames is ok for true 4k
Rt. I'd argue neither card is a true 4k rt card.

You can get pretty close to stock 5080 performance with an Undervolt/overclock. Of course you can also do the same to a 5080. IMHO the 5080 isn't worth the price difference. I spent 800 total on my gigabyte 9070 xt. What's the cheapest(non fe) 5080? Zotac/pny ~1400?

I can't get quite that on my specific card but it definitely closes the gap.

As for the "at least 5 years into the future"… let's be honest, the "enthusiast" population here only cares about what's now and new.

Apologies, I was trying to figure out where to find this "community wiki" on this site, but couldn't find it. Could you please post the url to the wiki? Thanks!

Sure, the community wiki (each deal has its own) is just below the deal description and deal score.

I happened to have both and I think both are good deals. One is the R16 BF deal from last year with an i7 14700f and a 4070 Ti Sup for $1500 - 10% coupon - 16%CB - 10% Amex offer = $999 with $121.5 rewards. I used the rewards on this deal with a liquid cooler and the final price is $2399 - 10% - 13%CB - 13%Amex - 50Amex - 121.5 = $1469 with $129.5 rewards. I used the 2nd rewards for another one but I will leave that out of the comparison.

I have played with both for a while now and I think the upgrade is well worth the $500 difference even if you ignore the inflated GPU market as of now.

For GPUs, dell OEM ones are quite nice and they are similar to the MSI Gaming Trio models and quite a bit better than MSRP models such as FE and Ventus. 5080 is about 30-35% faster than 4070 Ti Super in raw performance, but it has better OC and UV potential which add another 5-10% performance lead. It also has latest MFG and the AI cores handle DLSS4 more efficiently, and it also supports many new non-gaming features only available to 5000 series. More importantly, it does all these with only about 20w more power consumption so it is a lot more efficient.

For CPUs, in theory i7 14700F is on par with Ultra 7 265F at full power which you see in all the reviews. However, the R16 has a PL1 of 100w and PL2 of 219w for the 14700f and the new ACT1250 has a PL1 of 182w same as PL2 which makes a huge difference in real world performance. The Cinebench R23 multi-core score is like 50% higher with 265F (33000 vs. 22000 for 14700f). The reason is because the new model has a better liquid cooler with a more efficient chip which suits the small form factor of Aurora much better.

There are other minor improvement such as Wifi7 and higher memory support, but in term of performance, this deal is leaps and bounds ahead of the last deal.

I hope everyone has better luck than me. The computer arrived absolutely dead. The dumb alien head flashed 3 times orange and then 5 times white. Never started up. Support was useless. Returned it and finally getting my money back. Support keeps texting me about the pc that is already returned. I couldn't be more enraged about this experience. Dell was once great but is now a brand I will never touch again.

I went with the 4090 deal instead of the 5080 as the 4090 is much better. Wish you could get a better generation CPU but oh well. My OTD price was something like $2050 for the 4090 with the 265KF and 1000W PSU. Kept Memory at 16gb and bought a better package from Amazon for just memory.

I used the 10% off deal coupon, along with my two Amex cards that have 5% off on each and my $200 credit on each and then 12% cash back
