It's Mucinex

Mucinex contains the active ingredient guaifenesin, which is an expectorant that helps loosen mucus in the airways to relieve chest congestion. Some formulations, like Mucinex D, also include pseudoephedrine, a decongestant that helps relieve nasal congestion.

Mucinex DM contains two active ingredients: guaifenesin, which is an expectorant that helps loosen mucus, and dextromethorphan, which is a cough suppressant that reduces the urge to cough. Together, they help relieve cough and chest congestion
Efficacy of guaifenesin is debated... But if you do find relief with it, Dollar Tree has the 400mg tablets at $1.25/15 tablets, all day everyday.

I'm not sure why it's asking for a driver's license when it doesn't contain pseudoephedrine or dextromethorphan hydrobromide. I see no reason to provide my information; this is so frustrating.

Amazon has a 200 count of 400 mg (13x larger than the Dollar Tree bottle) for $8.49 after 15% Sub & Save discount. That said, the OP deal is for 1200 mg pills, so each pill is 3x the size of your Dollar Tree deal. 21 of OP's pills = 63 Dollar Tree pills.

So, if you qualify at the 15% Sub & Save then OP's deal is only $3.25 for 21 pills = 15.4 cents per pill or ≈ 5 cents per 400 mgs. Dollar Tree would actually be over 8 cents per 400 mgs. And the Amazon ValuMeds deal I found would be a little over 4.2 cents per 400 mg pills.

All of the above said — OP's deal is pretty damn good for a small quantity as long as you're okay with 1200 mg "horse pills."

"Extended Release" sucks IMHO. I want it done and over in 4 hours!
Also, it's a TRAVESTY to use the name CONTAC on anything other than the old formula. That stuff actually worked! That's why they don't sell it any more. They don't want us cured, they want us to suffer 1-3 weeks.

Guaifenesin doesn't do a damn thing for me. The medical research supports that. If it works for you, great, just don't take it *expecting* results.

Yeah recent double blind trials have shown it doesn't really have an effect beyond placebo. Lots of drugs are getting tested and found they literally don't do anything. (Like Sudafed PE)

What's strange is that I have found Mucinex to be consistently effective at clearing stuffy nose. Even after that research was published...
