This may look like a deal only because these things are insanely overpriced to begin with. I don't know why anyone would buy this even at this price. Perhaps only to add into an existing Sonos setup.

22% of 1-star reviews, by the way.

This is my favorite type of slickdeal.. an exceptional product that has seen its price fall dramatically due to many poor reviews from people who weren't bright enough to figure out how to use it. I have one of these, and it's incredible. Transmits audio in lossless FLAC to my era 300s. No drop outs. Was a little fussy to set up, but I was able to figure it out. My jaw hit the floor the first time I heard a record play.

Would have been a lot more popular if the lossless streaming was not limited to Sonos.

Agreed, I love mine. Mine came with a better cartridge, but I paid a lot more than this.

Previously designed exclusively for seamless integration with the Sonos ecosystem, the Victrola Stream line is now even more versatile thanks to this latest update. Rolling out automatically to all Victrola Stream Carbon, Onyx, and Pearl turntables, and previously to Stream Sapphire turntables, this over-the-air upgrade introduces three significant new connectivity options:
  • VINYLSTREAM Wi-Fiâ„¢ (UPnP) – Stream vinyl wirelessly to UPnP-enabled audio devices, including speakers, A/V receivers, HiFi streamers, smart TVs, and other Wi-Fi products from brands like KEF, JBL, Sony, Samsung, WiiM, Denon, Marantz, and more.
  • Bluetooth Output – Enjoy greater flexibility by streaming directly to Bluetooth speakers and headphones, bringing high-quality wireless audio to any space.
  • Roon Ready Relay – Stream vinyl in up to 24-bit/48kHz lossless FLAC to any Roon endpoint, offering the ultimate high-fidelity vinyl experience.

Wow. This is game changing for this turntable, without an exaggeration.
Now, I am not saying I would necessarily run out and get it, but it's versatility, appeal and target market has just greatly increased.

As a a pure speculation, I am wondering if this deeply discounted sale is an attempt to increase the installed base and gain unsuspecting beta-testers. Big Grin

Yeah I'm honestly thinking about buying it now. You'd recommend at this price?

You are putting me on the spot. laugh out loud I *AM* intrigued myself, to be honest, even if just out of technical curiousity. drool
At this price and with the added Bluetooth + non-Sonos wireless streaming it is definitely very competitive. If the Denon DP-400 were still available for $300, I'd probably feel safer recommending that. But yes, the Victrola is worth taking the chance.

Yeah I got this one from a deal in February but the bluetooth doesn't work :/ The seller made it right though (won't go into detail so no one abuses the purchase otherwise)

It was a great deal for half the price of the Victrola for those who got a good unit. But the Victrola is a premium product in comparison. It may very well be worth the price premium.

My son is interested in getting into vinyl. Would this be a good mid quality option, if I paired with a nice speaker? It appears it has flexibility on speakers now ...accepting RCA cabled, Sonos, or Bluetooth. I'm not as familiar with turntable/record players.
