Funny, I'm currently sitting in my truck swearing at this exact camera as it won't shut up..."Parking recording started" "Recording Started" every five minutes. Also, I have sensitivity set to the lowest setting, but every bump I hit, it's talking to me about emergency recording or something like that. Annoying as hell.
I have a fleet equipped with cams from several brands. Viofos are by far the most UNRELIABLE ones
I've had an A119 for about 3 years without a hiccup. I pull the SD card every ~6 months just to double-check it's recording properly. Never a problem.

I've been using VIOFO on all of my vehicles since the first A119 came out. Never had any issues. Even in the triple digit TX heat, the cameras have always worked.

Never had a dash cam before and considering getting one. Is this compatible with any car? I have a 2019 Camry SE
Dash cams work in any vehicle. If you're going to hardwire it, you'll just need to verify the type of fuses your car uses as most hardwire kits connect in parallel with a fuse in the fuse box.

I see, thanks. If i don't hardwire, is it just powered via batteries?

Cig port/12v.

Google guides for dashcam installs, there are many.

I have a Viofo installed now for a couple years. Whenever something isn't right, I pull the SD card to review the footage and then I clear it and let the camera format it. The key is letting the camera format the card, I read that on Reddit.

Besides trying to figure out the optimal settings for exposure, it has done what I expected.

It has also given me some laughs because I can share the recordings with friends pretty easy using the wifi feature.

I have the parking kit installed and a rear camera. It's been a good solution for us, but like everything, it needs maintenance and a quality endurance SD card.

If you have a powered rearview mirror, look on Amazon for an adapter cable that will split the power to the mirror and another to USB for the dashcam. Easiest "hardwire" solution. Make sure to get the cable specific to your vehicle make/model.

Simply disconnect the power from the mirror and connect it to the splitter and reconnect the mirror from the splitters connector. Then connect the dashcam to the other connection on the splitter which is a typical USB connection.

I did this and it was quick and easy and looks much nicer than any other install I've done, but it doesn't support parking mode. That said, parking mode has never turned out useful for me, even when I had my car broken into.

My viofo has been fine, I also had a cheap Blueskysea B1W and that was fine.

If they're not all capacitor based, I would only get ones that have a capacitor and not some sort of battery inside them. At least if you live anywhere hot. Also always use an endurance micro SD card in them, I think that's half the problems people have at least are microSD related.

customer support is pretty responsive.
My A129 lost focus because of AZ heat. It was under warranty, but since they keep changing models they could not offer me a replacement. Instead of RMA'ing or fixing my front cam, they offered me $30 off a new similar camera but only from their website.
Was very disappointed with their "warranty". I'm stuck using an out of focus front cam, because they constantly change models, form factors, shapes, and sensors. I like their cams otherwise, but my one CS experience was not that great.

You can definitely turn off voice notifications in Settings. Parking mode can only be properly enabled with one of the hardwire kits (not plugging into USB). If your setup is hardwired and constantly switching between parking/normal recording modes, then there is probably an issue with where you have the ACC wire hooked up.

My car's fuse system is weird, and when I originally tried setting up the ACC fuse tap (at night), the headlights were the only fuses I found that worked as expected when I turned the ignition power on and off. However, I didn't realize that because I was installing this at night, my car's light sensor was activating the headlight fuse. When I went driving in the daytime, the dashcam started toggling between parking/recording mode everytime my lights went on/off in a tunnel or covered area, lol. I ended up having to dig behind the fuse box and find a "remote signal" wire to tap the ACC wire into for proper on/off with the ignition switch. Hope this helps someone.

I use obd port adapter dual usb-a for 2 cameras. Parking mode seems to work properly for me. One of my cams only has 24 hour parking mode, and viofo is 48 hours. After 24-48 hours they stop recording. On the plus side my car battery doesn't die. I wish viofo had 24/7 parking or there was a way to restart cameras to extend parking recording.

It's the SD card. These things are picky as hell about SD cards and they actually have a recommended SD card list, which is ridiculous. It's probably because they record at a higher resolution and bitrate than the more reliable older dashcams. That is no excuse, however.
I bought the SD card with Viofo's own bundle and it still does it too often

Same. I had two A119s (two cars) for years, and finally upgraded one to a 229 last year. Use good SD cards and they're set-and-forget.
