Funny, I'm currently sitting in my truck swearing at this exact camera as it won't shut up..."Parking recording started" "Recording Started" every five minutes. Also, I have sensitivity set to the lowest setting, but every bump I hit, it's talking to me about emergency recording or something like that. Annoying as hell.
I have a fleet equipped with cams from several brands. Viofos are by far the most UNRELIABLE ones
I've had an A119 for about 3 years without a hiccup. I pull the SD card every ~6 months just to double-check it's recording properly. Never a problem.

I did this and it was quick and easy and looks much nicer than any other install I've done, but it doesn't support parking mode. That said, parking mode has never turned out useful for me, even when I had my car broken into.
Agree. I installed years ago using a t-tap. Car makers should just install USB ports up there and in the back or include it like Tesla for luxury models

Mine says "video protected" too often (maybe once every one or two hours of driving) but it's not too bothersome since I don't drive that much. I occasionally just delete all the saved videos to clear the space. But I'll look at other brands if I need to get another dashcam.
Check your g-sensor setting, too high and highway expansion joints can trigger it.

Why is it or was not useful for you?

My unit was mounted on static film. Fell off. Unit 2 heavy. Used spare 3M pad 2cstick straight 2 windshield. Pray it holds.
I had A229 mounted with 3M pad, never fell off, even when I was tboned.

It just didn't capture any footage of the person who broke into my car or walking away. Just normal periodic captures

Viofos are good. My only gripe is their g sensor is too sensitive no matter what I setting I use. This causes the cam to lock a video when it thinks there was an accident. I have to periodically clear out the protected video folder.

I use obd port adapter dual usb-a for 2 cameras. Parking mode seems to work properly for me. One of my cams only has 24 hour parking mode, and viofo is 48 hours. After 24-48 hours they stop recording. On the plus side my car battery doesn't die. I wish viofo had 24/7 parking or there was a way to restart cameras to extend parking recording.
I mean, too restart it wouldn't it work to take it out off parking mode? Like, if you really wanted it you could go turn your car to ACC or ON, whichever powers the camera, and it would cycle out off parking then back into parking mode when you turn the car back off, basically just cycle the camera's power, no need to stay car.

Also, I'm really taken back by how many people are asking a question from the first page and not thinking it might be answered yet... just skim through the comments and look for that username's next comment(s), can't hold your hand and guide you for everything. 🤦 ♂️

Have had a A119 mini v2 for like 4 years and running fine since the day I installed it. Never had an issue. Using samsung high endurance 128gb.

I have both the a119 v3 and a119 mini 2 and they work flawlessly for years. I'm surprised to see so many shitting on Viofo? Maybe just certain models aren't as good… idk

Have 2 of the Viofo A229Pro 3ch installed in a Ram and a Bmw x5 with Viofo microsd cards.
Ram installed just into the cigarette lighter for now and runs only when truck is running, But for the Bmw is hardwired installed with hk4 cables and also a battery backup for the parking mode.
The only thing i do not like about Viofo dashcams and i think all have the same is that the parking mode you will need to press a button on the camera for 3-5 sec to turn on or off! So everytime you get home you need to shut it down to save battery even with a battery pack installed i do not want to waste it The Ram never had a problem. As for the other one installed in the bmw few times in the summer 3-4 time shut off on me or rebooted i think is because was sitting in the sun outside Calif temp 105-107*F and looks like is been about six months that worked perfect it must be the cold weather around. But yes good cameras around. Will i buy another Viofo? NO, Because of the Parking mode that must be done manual. They should have a timer or schedule when you want the parking mode to be turned on and off.
