Good deal,
but my M1 Max 64G still rock-solid. MIght waiting for the M4 Max Studio instead. (if they kept the 2k price tag).
You're not wrong, per se, but I did upgrade from that system to the M4 Max and there are some really great quality of life improvements. Faster WiFi is so good, general speed is really noticeably faster, the screen is improved (quantum dot and much cleaner scrolling where the M1 Max display really, really sucks in terms of pixel response), and I can run both my external 4K displays at 240hz finally. Is it worth the upgrade? I mean... if you have the free money, no. But I don't blame you for waiting. I don't have any regrets upgrading, though. This really is so nice to use.

Really? I've had them side by side and couldn't notice a difference apart from brightness. Both are really really good displays.

Yep had them side by side, too. When scrolling, the pixel response time is obviously improved, but only if you're sensitive to these kinds of things. It was really noticeable with white text on a black background, but still quite noticeable on regular web pages of black text on a white background.
Picked up the m4 pro version from Best Buy and had them price match over text. The exchange took like an hour as the person I was talking to kept adding Best Buy total membership to the invoice after repeating saying no. $2125 seemed like a deal off 2500 MSRP to me. Only $5 than Apple refurbished.
It'll be interesting to see if/how Apple decides to compete with the incoming 395. Having access to 128GB of RAM in a laptop under $3k is gonna be huge for some people.

I was even able to get Best Buy in person to price match a MBP model that was out of stock at my local MC
