I have one of these and the spout design is the absolute worst... I hated using this so much that I tossed the can after only using a few times.

I bought a few of these 5 gallons. I would never buy another. I wouldn't even take a free one. The spout design is total garbage. to pour i just take the whole spout off and use a funnel now.

I just replaced one of these because it leaked everywhere due to not properly venting. The safety pour mechanism is a real PITA too.

Agree crap nozzle, bought a normal nozzle replacement on amazon , problem solved

I have the 5-gallon one and it works great. For those with weak fingers/thumb, I can see where the mechanism is an issue.

This new safety spout design over the past so many years is absolute shit. Just echoing what has already been said but please replace the nozzle with one the easier pour kits. This current "safety" design just allows leaks from the spout and base and should be outlawed.

Justrite Type II safety can. Expensive but it's a BIFL product that works. Yes, not a 1 gallon can and I do recognize sometimes you want a small can.

With that said, I have some Scepter plastic gas cans and hate them. Replaced the spout, removed the flame arrestor and installed vents. They're usable now but I find the Midland cans much more comfortable and better.

I hate the environmental spouts. They always are difficult and leak. Invest in a round galvanized can with built in funnel. I bought one 4 years ago and so happy with it and got rid of all these plastic junk ones. No more leaked gas and I see what I'm pouring so no more overfilling. That was foolish. They have great old school spout options on Amazon for about 7 bucks for 3.. whatva waste
