Then they should have said: "sorry, price mistake" instead of lying to us. That's the part that actually bothers me. The lying part and the fraudulent part.
Making mistakes is okay. Own up to it. Do not lie about it. This is basic human decency 101.

I got the email too. It got nothing to do with shipping the order, I think it's auto generated insurance mail. All my orders got cancelled despite receiving that mail

Same thing, ordered 5 Makita and Bosch products on 3/1, none shipped yet. The order was not canceled either, so I am hopeful!
FYI: If they cancel your order with the reasons "buyer requested" or "buyer's shipping address has issues", make sure to report them as it's cancellation fraud intended to pass off fault onto the buyer's account.
You should do this because eBay uses both cancellation and return metrics for banning accounts (like Amazon).
It's totally fine to not honor a price mistake, but leaving the customer to take the mark on the account is not.
This sounds fishy. I just got the below email from ebay that I contacted the buyer (which I did not):
