8GB memory in these is straight up e-waste. Otherwise it's a fantastic computer for the price.

8gb in 2025?

For comparison, we had 16gb standard on all of our machines -- back in 2015.

Using 8gb today is pretty much ewaste. And not being able to upgrade these mark them for the dump.
