I'm picking this up as a backup to my g pro wireless and my work mouse. $24 for a 40g mouse is decent if you are looking for weight class. G305 is 99g, which in my world is a heavy mouse. It's also running on a AAA and that's pretty old school.

—- never mind this requires a battery. Missed that.

Perhaps they've fixed it, but it was known for having a defective scroll wheel. After a time it will begin to back scroll, very annoying
I have one and ended up needing to replace the wheel sensor. That said, it's great now.. for an extra $20 eBay part, YouTube video instructions, and 30 min of my time.
I would not buy another 305 for that reason though.

Perfect timing. Ditching all my G305 cause all of them developed double click issues

I wouldn't go with Logitech anymore, either. Their mouse developed the same scroll wheel problem. Their mechanical keyboard started skipping keypresses on multiple keys after about 3 years, something I had never experienced on the dozens of keyboards I used.

Funny you say that. I recently replaced my Rival 3 with a g305.
The Rival 3 needed software running in the background for a lot of features. The g305 saved my changes to the mouse.
The Rival 3 went through batteries like crazy (even in battery saving mode). I haven't had the g305 long enough to determine battery life yet.
The Rival 3 scroll wheel went wonky. Down is fine, up is sporadic. I tried cleaning it based on some YouTube videos, no change.
The Rival 3 falls asleep and you need to press a button to wake it up. Sometimes it won't wake up until you unplug and replug the dongle. The g305 starts working when you move it, like any other mouse I have ever owned.

This has very stiff, very loud clicks. That's not a bad thing for some people. Very reliable clicks too. Don't get this if you're trying to be quiet though.

I have the wired version, which also has an issue with the scroll wheel. I ended up ordering a refurb G502 X from eBay for $40 mainly for the fast scroll wheel.

Yes, the G502X does have the infinite scroll, but it is not as nice as it is in MX Master 3.

This also happened on both of my EVGA ones.
On my second one, I decided to fix it. This is the tutorial I used to fix it and it has been at least 6 months without issues now.

give it a shot, it took me like 30 mins to do
if I rmbr correctly, the thin metal bracket gets loose and I just bent it back to make it tighter.
