Good game...took me over 100 hours to beat it. If you want an adult version of Pokemon, this is as close as it gets.

God I love this game. This is a great deal if you like JRPGs and a good spot to jump on if you've never played an SMT game.

I love Persona games and I loved Shin Megami Tensei Nocturn, but this bored me to death. I played a little over 20 hours and traded it in. A couple friends own it, too, and they hated it. It does have overwhelming positive reviews, though; so take our opinions with a grain of salt.

It's for people who like the battle system. There's very little story, which is what some people prefer about JRPG'S (the rich or quirky storylines). So, i can understand why some JRPG fans don't like it. It was very addicting for me, because I love the gameplay of this series, & i wanted to get all of the different demon allies (& also the different endings). It's not for everyone, tho.

I played Nocturne back on PS2 and was bored to death. Played the remastered and still can't force my way to beat it. Games with random battle mechanics are so outdated.

With that said, I spent about 200 hours each on both SMTV and VV on Switch. This price isn't bad if you never bought the original, but I'm going to wait for a Steam sale to try another path and import my Switch saves. The story and mechanics are improved but wasn't worth the full price of admission.
