I bought the Hisense u7 and the TCL M7 and tested them extensively through November and December.
To sum it up the u7 has much better sound. For the 55-in and it being in a bedroom not needing to have a sound bar is a key feature. Upscaling on TV has issues.

4K content on both televisions are equal I watched Dune 2 side by side frame for frame on both televisions and found myself in bright scenes looking at the M7 while in dark scenes caves with fire it was the u7.

I ended up getting the M7 for 436 off of Amazon early November. And the u7 for I think 486.

That being said I have 2 55-in TVs and I'm waiting for a 65 or 75 in of either one to go on sale I'll buy either one. I played Xbox on both looks amazing.

Adjustment features on the u7 are much greater in number than the M7.
This is normal price less 20 dollars
Need that 65" to move from the $699 range it's been stuck at for months now.

Has anyone had any experience returning a TV to Amazon? Is it a huge pain in the butt?
I've returned a 50 pound bed frame(ordered wrong size, my fault) and a 55" TCL TV from WOOT(which is really just Amazon). Just had buyer's remorse on a nice TV. Again, my fault.

Both were easy. Both were picked up by UPS. Free return shipping. Full refunds on both.

At Amazon, you start return online. Almost immediately, they will call you with details on how to return. Basically just arranging a day for UPS to pick up the item.

Can anyone comment the performance used as a monitor? Considering this or the Philips 144.

Isn't 55" too large for a monitor? 42" is the max most are comfortable with, 48" can be too large (so 55" is definitely too large I would think)

I just got this tv in 65 inch and it's amazing. I put this in my living room and I got a 55 inch CX in my room and the TCL is cheaper and has everything the CX does but the picture color is better on CX but the image clarity is better on this TCL, imho

I'm tempted to replace my 2018 6 series with this but who's going to buy the old TV if it has a bug stuck behind the screen (bottom area) Frown. No space to have a 2nd TV either haha.

good deal been waiting for 65 to drop but hasn't happened yet will wait
I use TCL 4K 43" TVs as computer monitors (that max out at 60Hz). If I want 120-144Hz, you can get somewhat sane pricing at 53". You might find a 43" monitor (which would be an improvement) for $800, but apparently only one exists and may be discontinued. 43" is already overly large, and I really don't want to deal with the dot pitch of 55".

Yeah I agree. I made the same choice and was very lucky to have gotten a real deal on a BB OB return. There are soooo many options out there and each offers a different experience depending on the users wants or needs, but no matter how many tvs I looked at, they all really looked outstanding to the layman's eye. Especially considering that all these big box retailers display their tvs using their 4K demo videos which look just incredible, but the reality is outside of gaming and the occasional YouTube videos, most users won't be able to replicate the same imagery at home when it comes to daily show and movie watching.
I wonder how many people actually sit so intently and critique their screens. I just sit and watch and don't make a point to look at each pixel to see a slight blurr here or a slight bloom there, but to each their own.
We all know that there will always be another "better option" with more "specs and features" available so unless you like buying tvs every 6 months or so, why not just get the best you can afford today and go home and enjoy it?

QM7 will be my tv for at least 5 years, which is the length of my protection plan…😎

Does anyone know if these can connect to multiple audio outputs simultaneously? I would like to use samsung q990 soundbar and j5500 tower speakers together. I know samsung tvs can but not sure about tcl?
