Woot! has New COAST CT225 11-in-1 Multi-Tool, Spring-Assisted Multi-Plier, File, Wire Cutter, Saw, Mini Knife, 3 Screwdrivers, Bottle and Can Opener with Leather Punch - EDC for $6.99. Shipping is free with Amazon Prime, otherwise $6 per order.

Obviously not a high end multitool, but has a lot for the low price. Appears to be a Gerber Suspension copycat. Might come in handy in a pinch, and is cheap enough to keep in a company vehicle or desk drawer at work without worrying so much about the cost of losing it.

Reviews are mixed as expected, but not horrible. Virtually all of them are Vine members, so keep that in mind. Some good information and photos in the reviews though: This tool looks to be OK at best, not for EDC by someone who needs it often but not the absolute bottom of the barrel (but close haha). I expect some rage in the comments but oh well; there's someone out there on a tight budget who needs something basic and cheap, and this is it.

When Vine Voice reviewers are mixed 2-5 stars...definitely "mixed" at best lol
Alternatively if you want a cheapie for in the glovebox etc, Walmart Ozark Trail fits the cheap but works bill

Imagine my shock when I found out this carries a lifetime warranty (per Amazon product page, linked in description). Like I said, it ain't for everybody but the price is right.

I knew they warrantied their flashlights. I've been fairly happy with a couple models

I bet they get madder than a blind man at a nude beach when you call to warranty a $7 multitool.

I suspect the
"Warranty exchanges do not cover the cost of shipping and handling."
Makes it hardly worth pursuing :/ probably cheaper to buy two 😂

Well there goes my minimal initial investment strategy.

On the other hand, then I'd be covered from Coast to Coast.

A while back I had an issue with a Coast headlamp that was given to me as a gift. I called the company and explained the situation. The headlamp had the lifetime warranty, but the model I had was discontinued. The company sent me a brand new headlamp of the next model series up that was in current production along with a couple of Coast rechargeable batteries. Good to deal with a stateside company that cared and spoke actual English to boot.

I 2nd this. I even paid the higher $11 for FOUR of ozark trails multi tools ( I bought 2 years ago, now they now cost $9.xx at walmart) and I have one in every glovebox and all my bugout bags. Even have one sitting here by my computer I use for tons of things when I'm too lazy to get my actual tools when quick fixing something.
