So for an addtl ~$950 you are getting a BMS, enclosure, and hardware to wire batteries together. Seems not too bad. I'm sure you can save a couple hundred doing it piecemeal but to not have to do the work…

What would be the level of difficulty to add this battery to a sunpower solar system? How much would it cost?

The tip over risk is high if rolling around so you have to be careful since it's 300 lbs!

If you want to actually back anything up in case of a power outage, a lot. You're looking at moving circuits in your house.

Other brand inverters/setups have other options and can make it easier but if you actually want to USE your battery, converting from grid tie to battery backup is not trivial.

What am I missing here. 14kwh battery power for a bit over $2k? Normally for a non-battery only unit I'd expect 14kw to be closer to $6k-$7k. That said, I'm a noobie to battery backups. Any help would be appreciated!

I'm not sure where you can find 12v 280 ah battery for $250 each. But you would be a superstar in all forums if you provided that info?

Er.... $328:

So $1312 for 4, or 58% of this. Am I a subsuperstar?

LOL I was getting ready to post that... it may be not completely half but damn close... However if he wants to play that game, he said 250 but half of 2250 is 1125.... divided by 4 281.50....

+ com port that talks to the inverter.
when you stack 4 12v batteries with individual BMS there is nothing to keep them balanced among themselves, which you cover with a 50 v BMS across all cells in this one.

I am guessing this can not go outside since they don't clearly say. Another 50-60% aboe the cost of this the ruixu/eg4 similar format 5-16kwh products have versions that can be outside, they can have heaters for the outdoor ones particularly so it can charge around freezing whether.

Can I use a few of these with some sort of auto switchover panel as a whole-home power backup? I'm either not looking in the right place, or Eco-worthy's site is just not that informative.

If you were ambitious about doing it yourself Ecoworthy and DCHouse batteries are on sale on their eBay stores right now.

You could do 300ah with 12V 100ah batteries for $1,728. No additional components included
