FWIW, Costco's 25lb bag of jasmine rice is $18, or about 72 cents per pound.
Hence the 'FWIW' - but as far as 'freshness' is concerned.. white rice has a shelf life of 'practically forever'.. and depending on suppliers/distribution, this stuff from Amazon may already be well over a year old.
Of course, the same could be true for Costco... but I have a little more faith in their buyers/suppliers. Costco's bags also have the official Thai Hom Mali / Thailand 'Department of foreign trade' seal - Amazon's do not.

Some of us do not eat rice daily and doesn't have a large family. I purchase things in smaller quantity where it makes sense to enjoy a fresher taste/flavor.

If you get 4, there is an additional 10% off. There is also an extra 5% for s&s if you qualify. Those make it $7.78 before tax ($1.945/bag, $0.97/lb, $0.0607oz). Not bad for small bags.

I don't think you know how rice works. Have you eaten canned beans?

there is no such thing as "fresh uncooked rice".
its has a shelf life of like decades.

I hear and agree with you, but sometimes rice can get kind of pungent if not stored properly.

Not true. Rice definitely tastes stale after a couple years.

Do you know what rice is? Like, know anything about rice at all? There is nothing called as "fresh" rice. Rice is stored literally for years and it does not go bad. In fact, some parts of the world prefer older rice. Yon't need any super speciality packaging to store rice. You can simply pout it in a rice box of the bag comes with a zipper then you can keep the zipper closed.
