One of the advantage of Vitamix over brands like this Ninja, is that you can blend hot items in a Vitamix. This Ninja blender specifically mentions in the manual that you should not blend hot items.

You can remove hot items off the stove like tomotoes, spices, etc and puree in a Vitamix to make tomato soup.

It's no blendtec or vitamix. But for 1/6 the price it seems like a good deal.

Seems like a good deal. How does this compare to a "higher end" brand like Vitamix or Blendtec?

The biggest difference is the warranty. I purchased similar Nutribullet blender. It stopped working after a year and a half. And warranty was only one year. I decided to go with Vitamix, which was on sale for 320 at Costco and has 10-year warranty

Costco has a lifetime warranty so it shouldn't really matter fwiw.

That's what those Kitchen Aid mixers are built for.

I'm still rockin' with my 1970's Vitamix I received from my grandmother over 20 years ago. It's all stainless steel so you cant see it but still works well.

Is a good blender. Just don't expect to pulverize things like a narrow base blender. If you want to chop things like making chunky salsa, this will work. And yes for smoothies/margarita also. But I still prefer my nutribullet for smoothies as I drink directly from the containers provided.
