This stuff is just a baking soda IPA suspension in a can (i.e. with propellants). A fancy dye is there too, but not needed since the corrosion is likely caused by acid anyway (which gets neutralized with the baking soda).

Coke is acidic, you're going down the wrong side of the pH scale if you use it.

WD-40 is fine, but there are better penetrants. Nothing really special going on here in terms of chemistry.

Per CCC, at least, looks like over the past year this was between $11-$13, though it has been at OP price for the past month or so.

In for one. Thanks!

Looks to be regular price, walmart has it for the same price, and autozone for a few bucks more. That being said pass for me, I will get it when I actually need it so it does not just sit on the shelf and I forget I own it, lol.

It is. It's just a lubricant. You can even use it to clean your wipers.

I'd rather not attract ants especially if the vehicle is parked outside.

Petroleum jelly on the posts will keep the corrosion from forming.

I've been using WD40 on my battery terminals for over 40 years to prevent corrosion, so I can tell you for sure it is safe.
