First one I bought said already redeemed. Called Amazon and first guy tried to shove me off so I asked for a Supervisor. Supervisor told me I have to contact XBOX and get a ticket number before they can do anything.

Contacted XBOX and they checked my code and found it was redeemed in 2016 and noted this in my ticket. Since I figured out this was gonna be ok I bought another one and sure enough it worked.

So contacting amazon back with the news that XBOX verified code was was redeemed 9 years ago and i should be all good.

Update on this. Contacted Amazon customer service, they told me to wait 48 hours and try again, wouldn't help me otherwise. Decided to contact Microsoft customer support about it, they told me the code was redeemed on Jun 07, 2016, and after showing them screenshots that I bought it today, they issued me $20 credits for the trouble. I don't mind the credits personally since I'll be spending money with them anyway.
