I guess $2.50 is the price now and not $2. Bummer.

The Lowe's app is still showing $3.98 for me. Can anyone confirm at their Lowe's or call and check?

I have been picking up 30 bags a year at $2 a bag the last few years,. Inspect the bags. The old ones have white mold that once you spread it, just expands everywhere. So make sure there is no mold in the ones you get,. That is why I pick them myself instead of having them delivered.

This mulch is awful. It's made of construction waste like broken pallets. I've found nails, chopped plastic bottles, and cigarette butts in the bags. If you don't need more than a couple bags this will do the trick but it is really low quality.

I'm still not seeing $2.50. Maybe it's regional?

It doesn't all come from the same place. For me, it comes from a mulch pit right down the road and is great quality.

The quality is highly dependent on where they get their raw material. One year, half the bags were like you said. The last 2 years, they were of high quality. Scotts also has variability in quality. You need to actually look at the bags before you purchase. If it looks bad quality, I go to a different pallet.

I've gotten this last 5 years. No more. Pieces way too big. Got to get 3X shredded mulch. Looks so much cleaner and breaks down way better.

The Sta-Green flower and veg garden soil is basically just finely shredded mulch + fertilizer. When it goes on deep discount for a couple bucks for 2 cu ft it's definitely the better buy if you're trying to get mulch that actually composts.

People complain about it, but it's a great top dressing , and if you want to use it as garden soil the trick is just to buy a lot, stack it up outside uncovered and wait 6 months to a year. Though that is what it's going to do in the ground anyway.

It completely composts in the bag to excellent soil, though it needs some drainage improvement considering it's 90% wood compost.

Why would you pay someone to turn your property into garbage dump. You are being sold shredded car tires that you probably paid someone to dispose last time you got new tires for your car.
