ST/TF/TW unlocks require a plan purchase. So you can no longer activate a new TF branded phone on an existing plan and get it unlocked. This is a new unlock policy since July 2024. The wording "This deal is good for existing straighttalk customers." is not entirely true if the idea is to unlock on an existing plan.
You can disable anything in Android with adb. Also realizing that most people don't know this but once you disable Device Pulse and Mobile Services on TF branded Androids, you will no longer get auto-installed bloatware. I disable these before connecting to WiFi.

Even as a "power user" I don't care about unlocking the bootloader if it takes 2 minutes to disable the two bloatware packages. I noticed that TF also stopped using the TF splash screen, at least on the midrange Androids, which gets rid of another reason to load the stock ROM.
It will unlock on day 61 after activation. It only requires initial service activation, no renewals needed. It should unlock automatically remotely when connected to wifi.

Can I port in my number, activate as a new users in this phone, wait for 20 days and port out? Will the phone still be unlocked after 61 days?

Texting "UNLOCK" to 611611 doesn't work anymore? The reply is "I don't understand your entry".

Checking through tfwunlockpolicy.com resulting ineligible for unlock because the phone is not TracFone brand.

Why bother? The deal doesn't require you to port. Just get a new number and let it die after 30 days, and the phone will unlock after 60 days.

the 611611 on ST and TF gives me the "great news!!! Your phone is already eligible to be unlocked". However that's a know incorrect message. Second paragraph says "please call our unlock department at 888-442-5102 for instructions. If under the 60 days since activation, the rep will give one the unlock date. Both iPhone and Android phones self unlocked at 60 days.

Straight Talk, Total Wireless and Tracfone are all under the Tracfone brand with the same unlock policy, all are owned by Verizon. The 611611 msg has been glitching for several weeks, as long as you activated correctly & don't play around with the sim phone should still unlock as expected - just put a 60 day reminder in your calendar.

I'm interested in knowing this myself. I heard it was possible, didn't know it was a thing.

I have done this with other phone personally, it worked same for 60 days unlock. All done in chat. May do same for this just to try since I have another 15$ card.

Thanks for the reply.
Is it better to do it through chat or over the phone?
Let me know if you're successful in rebranding to TracFone? Is $15 the cheapest plan? I thought at one time they had a $10 plan.

Please let us know where you got this info. Reviews I've read on this phone haven't mentioned such a problem. Is it specific to this phone or in general for foldables? Thanks in advance.

I tried to enroll Tracfone using RAZR but, it stated the phone can't be used.

Do I need to be with Straight Talk for 2 months and it'll unlock or 3 months ?

That will be too expensive as you will have to minimum recharge for 5 months, will $30 plan so almost $320-330 to unlock it.
But I've $15 cricket plan which was available for short period of time last year, I can pop in the sim in and use it for 6 month, so $190 for me unlocked.

Nope! Read the 'fine print' from Cricket:

Must open new account and bring your number on a new line with min. $60/mo. voice plan. First 2 mo. svc charge & tax due at sale.
So you would be at $169.99 plus tax with 4 more months to go even with their present $49.99 promo......

Happens in general for foldables. Some people go 2 or 3 years with no screen problems. But a majority don't make it that long. Go read posts in subreddits r/razr and r/zflip.

I'm a Canadian, how do I go about getting this deal. I understand I need take a plan for first 30 days and wait for 61 days to unlock.

I can place a pick up order at Niagara Falls and pick it up. What should I do after that ?
