Nope . You pay $364 only to order it . They will pay you $25 per month for 12 months if you stay with ST at $65 month plan . So you will be paying $40 for that plan . This deal is same as straight talk website .

Let's hope it's 60 days of total service and not 60 days of continuous service. Report back in 30 days will ya?
So mine unlocked today and I did have the lapse. That's my data start to finish. Lapsed 30 days went ahead and used one of the deals they offered for another 30 plus the discount from the plan itself. Unlocked 60 from purchase still have about 4 days left on the second 30 day plan.

What 30 plus discount plan did you do? So you did 60 days of total service? Mine is still unlocked but it's only 57 days from activation date.

So when my service lasped, they sent a oops let's get service back email. Used that to buy another 30 days it was a continuation of the same plan with the discounts applied. Considering I unlocked before the 60 days not sure if they are just looking for two paid 30 days blocks or what. Considering there is zero refunds on plans once the second 30 days starts they got what they are gonna get from you.

Same here. After filing with BBB, I got a call from ST that I would need to purchase one additional month to unlock. Their argument was that this is the new unlock policy for any phone that has yet to be unlocked. After arguing for about 15 min, I gave up. So either one additional month or lock. Looks like they won't unlock it until they get 2 months of paid services.

Same here, now it is a major PITA......
We should file a class action lawsuite, chaging policy should not affect previous purchases for sure. This would be a sure win in court, just not sure whether it is worth so much hassle.

I'd dispute through my credit card first.

Let me try to dispute with my Citi card.

my didn't unlock automatically so I called in and got the same run around on the accepting the unlock policy even if they change anytime, in 5 minutes I can tell the agent is quite annoyed since they must be getting thousands of these calls everyday. They changed it on April 1, so right after most people did the iphone 16e deal. I do agree there is a class action lawsuit waiting to be easily won here. By their logic they can now change it to a 36 month active service unlocking policy today and everyone who hasn't gotten unlocked yet will be totally screwed and it will be all legally fine.

I bought this phone on March 13 and did not open the box yet as I wanted to use it after a month. Do I need to buy second month service now to get this unlocked?
yes, according to their new policy which kicked in April after everyone bought the phones

Effective Date: April 1, 2025For all cellphones Activated on the Verizon network on or after November 23, 2021, the cellphone will be remotely unlocked automatically 60 days after paid Activation and 60 days of paid active service. So we can no longer just use the one month it comes with and now must pay another month for it unlock?Or we let 16e sit out 1 month and auto unlock? Thanks.
it will not auto unlock, you need to have 60 days of service, doesn't have to be continuous service but total 60 days.

finally got both of my iphones 16e unlocked. I bought one additional month for one and it got unlocked in about 5 days. For the second one, the confusion of the IMEI during the activation got the phone unlocked after calling the unlock dept. I didnt have to buy the second month and it got unlocked in about 5 hours.TLDR: call the unlock dept and request to create an unlock ticket. The new unlock policy is not set in stone and its up to the rep to create a ticket for you. I wasn't able to create tickets online without paying for the second month.

Excellent news just only 25 days too late for me 😁
