Not the clearance prices we wanted, but they're matching Best Buy's prices for in-warehouse only. The 2nd year of warranty makes it slightly better deal, but that's debatable.

Wow, M3 prices are just not competitive with the M4 offerings. I'd take an M4 with 256gb over an M3 with 512gb for lots of reasons: webcam, longer lifespan, better chip. Plus you can always get an external hard drive.
M2 clearance rate might be good for some people. M3 rate won't move much product unless individual store managers want to discount further to .97

don't forget the RAM. M4 base models come with 16GB and M3 came with 8GB. So to get to the memory of 16GB for M3, it is extra. By the time you pay extra, you are already close to the M4.

I did take others advice and this spurred me to get one of the new M4s with the edu discount. They also offered me almost $100 more trade in on my old intel MacBook Pro than Best Buy or Costco would. So it nearly balanced out

This is literally exactly what I did too. $764 pre-tax for the 16/256 m4 mba after a $135 trade-in for my 2016 i5 mbp 8/256. Debated going 16/512 but I still have 90+gb open on my mbp so it wasn't worth the mark up

Yea I had a 2019 touchbar MBP13 with the awful butterfly keyboard. They offered me $210 trade in where everywhere else only offered $125-150. So mine will be basically $680ish after trade in.

where did you trade in that gave you more than BB and costco?

The real Costco clearance deals are the individual in store manager specials. You just have to watch them. With the Costco app you can check the in store prices. It will be about $200 lower than the lowest price they were advertised at in all stores
