Audiotechnica LP60 is good entry level turntable as well. I recently upgraded from that to a Fluance RT83 and I'm impressed at how good the sound was on the AT after upgrading to a $350 TT

No. You need a direct drive turntable to scratch/DJ. This is belt driven

I knew BestBuy openbox items had full manufacturers warranty but I experienced this firsthand. So don't see a reason why you think BestBuy openbox items are unreliable. You can return them to any BestBuy if you don't like them after pickup. And if there is a problem there is warranty.
