I had about a month left on my previous deal. When I logged out and tried to sign up as a new account it wouldn't take, saying I already had an active account. I then cancelled my account (still active until next month) and changed my email to a throw away one. I then successfully signed up with the new promo using my old (existing) email. This kept my P+ watch history from being deleted and making me update all my Roku's etc. I then immediately tried to cancel the new account and was offered 3 more months for free which I took. Good until June 9, 2026 - hopefully P+ stay active the whole time.
If you check the earlier Sportsline deals, they also stated that Sportsline's site said 30 days, but people got longer.

It definitely said 30-days when I did the 7 month deal for $4.99.
I got Paramount+ and Showtime both ad-free for 7 months.
Just now went to cancel right after signup and got an extension for SL to June 2026 with the year sub

🤞Hoping P+ will be included for the whole length

As of May 12 11 2025 Pacific, not for me.

My previous Sportsline subscription expired on Sat, May 11 10, which was created last year on the Sportsline/P+ deal in March 2024 for $30. I proactively canceled that account in late Feb of this year and got the extended 3 month offer (yeah, I could have waited a few more weeks to get the 3 month extension into June but I was afraid a Sportsline offer wouldn't be available in June). A total of 14 months of Paramount+ w/Showtime access for $30.

I waited a day to see what would happen to my linked Paramount+ account. As with in years past, my P+ account remained active for much of the next morning but went into the expired/reactivate subscription mode in the late afternoon. So not a surprise.

So, about an hour ago, I went to Sportsline and...
  1. Created a new Sportsline account. Was this necessary? Who knows. For me, best to enter the new deal with a new throwaway email address for Sportsline since it's just a throwaway low cost gateway for PP+ w/Showtime. YMMV if you try with an existing expired SL account.
  2. In the upgrade account flow, I selected the yearly Sportsline Pro option ($99.99) and entered "BASKETBALL" promo code. Brought the cost down to $39.99 for 12 months access.
  3. For whatever reason, the SL site would not gracefully handle PayPal-- I was redirected to PP to login and and select payment type when when returning focus to SL, SL threw up a payment error. The PP side shows a successful link. Bleh-- I deactivated the few Sportsline-linked entries in PP and in SL, entered a CC number via Google Pay virtual card (since I was in Chrome).
  4. The payment acknowledgement screen erroneously displayed the next payment will be on May 11, 2025--- yesterday. But the email acknowledgment shows the correct next payment date of May 12, 2026.
  5. The email acknowledgement also contained the https://www.paramountplus.com/sportsline/ URL to link to a Paramount+ account. And that worked without issue on the same PP+ account I had been using over the last few years with the SL deals. For best results, I was already logged into my PP+ account in another tab and the linking was smooth as butter.
Final steps--
  • checked with the PP+ app on Roku and Apple TV and also via web browser (access and stream successful)
  • updated my Google Calendar with the new SL expiration date and notify me a month in advance
  • Changed payment option in SL from credit card to PayPal--- that was successful. Then in PP, I unlink SL from the credit card.
  • Checked in my CC app to see the pending charge amount (and it was the correct $39.99 value)

Thank you for the detailed process. Mine is set to expire/renew 5/13 with a gmail tricked SL account but my original P+ account. I cancelled my SL account today and was going to go back to my original SL account that is the same email as my original P+ account as I had read that it needed to be that way but good to know it can be a throw away SL account. I'm waiting until my P+ stops working until I renew via SL.
Please keep us updated if any changes and I will do the same.
Rep'd and Thank you again for being a good SD'r

I decided not to trust that this works any longer.

I cancelled my subscription today and because I already took advantage of their offer for a 2 month extension, they told me that they could not offer me any free extensions.

However, they did offer me 50% off a monthly, quarterly or annual subscription (again, to SportsLine, not to Paramount+). When I asked if that comes with Paramount+, the person told me that only the full priced subscription comes with a 30-day trial to Paramount+.

I think they were mistaken. Because their own T&Cs say that the full price subscription comes with Paramount+ (period). It's my understanding that any SportsLine subscription will come with the 30-day trial at the very minimum.

Anyway, I am tired of playing this game. So I am getting off the exit here. Smilie

Using your post as a guide, I canceled my original SportsLine account yesterday, which I had originally signed up for on 12/14/23 for $34.99, and then had gotten a 3 month extension, plus a 2 month extension, for a current 5/15/25 expiration. I then changed the email address on my original SportsLine account to a different email address.
Then I signed up for a new SportsLine account using the original email address from my original SportsLine account to hopefully keep my Paramount+ login credentials unchanged on all my streaming devices. I used promo code "stakes" for $99.99-$60=$39.99, with a new 5/13/26 expiration . I immediately clicked "Cancel", and was offered a 3 month extension, to 8/13/26, making it $39.99/15 mo=$3.33/mo. When 8/13/26 gets near, I'll click cancel again, and hope for another 2 month extension.
I guess I won't know until after tomorrow if the new SportsLine account keeps my Paramount+ account active, but I sure hope it does!

To report back, when I got home from work today, my Paramount+ account was still logged in, but not active. So, I went to https://www.paramountplus.com/sportsline and re-linked my account, using my original SportsLine/Paramount+ credentials, and everything was back to normal.
