I have all 3 of these lights and they're all fantastic. That said, hands down my favorite (and it seems like others' favorites too) is the DEWALT DCL050.

$40 is a STEAL for the DEWALT DCL050 so grab this now. It's my favorite flashlight of all time and by far the most useful.

The one I got from woot is "Type 1+2" (which I think means Type1.2) which is double the lumen of the original Type1.

I posted a similar response in the other thread.
THIS is the right answer folks. Get the DCL050. it's hands down the best Dewalt light and probably the best flashlight of all.

Sheesh...good price...but I already have 4 of the DCL050 lights (one still in the package as a spare). What sets this apart is the pivoting head (which keeps the light out of your eyes). I also have a larger room worklight (DCL077B -- not on sale but commenting) and that is great, but it's so bright that every time you turn around you see it, and it truly is blinding. The wand lights you can tip "down" a notch or two to keep them out of your eyes, but still provide light. Plus--you can "fit" them into areas the others won't fit (say down the side of an engine in a cramped engine bay). And regardless of whether this is an "old" variant, it's plenty bright for virtually anything you might need.

Make sure you know the use of a spotlight like the dcl043 etc vs the dcl050 which is actually more useful in most cases.

I have the 040, it sucks. The 043 has been helpful, but very bright in small areas.

This is a great flashlight. I love it for camping or checking on livestock at night because if the red light function on this. Definitely my go to lamp.

For price reference I bought this in 2019 for $65 and thought it was a good deal then. I would jump on this if you are not sure.

Pretty much every time I grab a flashlight, it's because what I really want is a good flood light. So not really.

if its the type 12 version with 1000 lumens for the dcl050 then its a good price, should show on the sticker on the side what version it is once you get it.

When searching the UPC listed on Woot!, other sites show a High setting of 1000 lumens and a low of 500. So it seems like a good chance of this being version 1.2. I guess we'll see.

I have this one DEWALT DCL043 20V MAX LED Work Light and the DEWALT DCL050 20V MAX LED Work Light, and I use them both all the time. I highly recommend them—both provide great light output and last a long time, even on the smallest PowerStack batteries. I've had both since 2020, and they're still going strong.
