At this price it's basically like buying the battery and then getting the tool, charger, and accessories for free.

Actually with a quick look around, it actually looks like this is cheaper than just getting a battery by itself.

Not worth it even with a free battery. If you want cheap, but decent tools, wait on a Ryobi sale. Worx power tools are junk outside of their screwdriver.

I'd say that if you are someone who would use this for a small project and then put it away, it's probably worth it. If you need your tools to perform on multiple projects, look elsewhere. I'm old enough to know that "buy once/cry once" is wise advice.

Since you're already invested in Ryobi, I'd just wait for it to go on sale.

I have several Worx tools, but not this one, and I've been happy with all. I've no immediate use for this, so I'm gonna pass.

Is this any better than the Hyper Tough 12v Brushless at Walmart for this price?

They have have good and bad. The large led worklight is great had that for years, some trimmers i use for detail work, hedge trimmers have all been fine for me. I buy worx for some basic stuff i think is overpriced on upper tier brands. Though i will say the high pressure ryobi inflator is very good. Anyways on worx funny this came up as my nitro oscillating one died yesterday and i've had a few issues over times, a corded band saw had unusual wear early, this nitro stopped working and usually worx batteries are excellent but there was a time i had a 4ah one die. I'll say this worx as always been top notch at warranty handling and it's a 3 year warranty. Whenever i've had an issue it was trouble free once i provided the requested information that never took more than 5 minutes and i'm sure this nitro will be the same.

I disagree completely. I have a complete line of Worx tools, including the lawn mower. I flip houses and have been very happy with Worx tools.

Can I use this to cut a small tree? Or should I get a mini chainsaw?

I'm with you on this. The only issue I've had to-date with any of my Worx tools was with the oscillating sander, and a couple of emails later I received a new one in the mail - full kit, too - not just the sander.

Regardless of the size of the tree, this is definitely NOT the tool you're looking for. Chain saw is probably the right way to (unless it's truly tiny - then you might get away with a reciprocating saw, but even that wouldn't be great)

I have a whole variety of Worx tools - pole saw, drills, saws, jaw saw, work light, inflator, sewer/drain rodder, and larger cut mower. Like them all. Use some more than others. I like this deal. As mentioned previously, it's like your getting the Worx branded battery for free. That being said, I use my original works batteries but since my yard is large, I have bought some generic batteries off Amazon to be able to keep mowing instead of waiting for a recharge and the generic ones are cheaper. But the quality and lifespan on them varies too.
I just ordered this to add to my collection, thanks OP.
