Seems like you can get 40 oz for $6 on Amazon [amazon.com] as well. Thanks for the tip regardless; I might cancel my order in light of this new information. That's the beauty of S&S; you can buy immediately and cancel weeks later before your monthly shipment without consequence.

Seems like a decent deal, as I'm seeing an average price of $5 on the price trackers I use. I'm in for one; thanks, OP. This should be pretty tasty on roasted asparagus with olive oil.

6oz will last quite a while and not become caked from humidity. S&S is great for those impulse buys and ability to cancel.

TJ Maxx, et al. is the other option. Those places usually have a selection of various brands in 2/3lbs bags for under $6.

I suppose if you just use this as a finish seasoning, it would last a while, but at the bulk prices, I use this type for for my all-purpose salt (dump it in pasta water, etc.). I would go through 6oz pretty quickly.

I've never had a caking issue (in Florida), as long I keep most in the resealable bag.

Cretinism is a congenital disease, iodine won't help after the fact.

We have plenty of regular iodized salt in our diets. You can survive dinner without it.

How do you use this salt? Does it taste and use just like typical table salt?

Yup, just traces of regular old iron allow them to sell one of the worlds oldest, most plentiful and inexpensive commodities for an 80000% markup

Regular Morton's table salt $1/lbs, pink Himalayan Pink salt $2-$3/lbs

How is that a "80,000% markup? (Math is hard)

I thought it was clear that I was exaggerating to make a point, but I guess not.

BTW, your numbers are off in regards to this deal, as retail table salt is <50 cents a pound vs this deal at $5.95 /lb. (Math is hard) There are much cheaper options (as you note, you can often find in the $2 range), so I didn't consider this to be much of a deal.

The point was that pink salt, which is just salt with trace minerals/compounds left without further processing, sells for a premium that isn't really justified. But if you find a difference in the taste, or prefer the additional trace amounts of minerals for the cost, go for it. Personally, I'd only use it the presentation aspect.
