Note that it can't capture 4k144HDR, those numbers are maxes of what it can capture but not all at once. Quoting the website for HDR capture the max frame rates and resolutions are: "up to: 4K30 / 1440p60 /1080P120 HDR"
I have never used this or exactly know what this is but I am guessing this can record from other hardware with HDMI output, for example, Playstation, camera, graphics card etc. Difference- 1. As I mentioned previously, 2. OBS requires system resources which may slow down your PC. With this one, the processing is being done by itself and not the source hardware. Someone, please correct me if I am wrong.
Latency is low but audio is stereo.
Avermedia live gamer ultra 2.1 can do 5.1 audio.

That's it, the question comes up every time - there's no video in on most graphics cards, just different outs. So if you want to use OBS for anything besides the PCs video, you need something that can receive the video first. And no, you can't reverse a GPU.
OBS itself is pretty negligible to my understanding, but I'm sure there are systems either borderline or if you stream concurrently you can offload that for smoother experience

Maybe you want to record editing the bios of a pc. Or you want less overhead on your pc while recording (not all PCs are monsters) or you want to record consoles.

Shouldn't the company explain this in any listing or advertisement? Or do they make more money on impulse buyers?

It'll capture 4k144 in SDR. 4k30 is for HDR

This is for offloading some of the processing resources to external devices, plus it is a cross-platform device, not limited to PC only.

I bought one of these a while back and no matter what I did or what computer or output I used, I could not get the 4k to not come in without a green tint. 1080p worked fine. You can Google it and see it's a known thing with these apparently. It has something to do with refresh rate, but I spent hours trying solutions and I never figured it out.
