However, people are willing to pay a premium for a multitude of reasons; small desk, small office, apartment living, etc.
Personally my mansion could normally afford space for even the bulkiest of builds, if it weren't for all these pesky super-models lounging around in lingere, taking up all the space. Well we all have to make sacrifices. Such is life.
